Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I know it to be true. It's as simple as that.
Through my own studying of the Book of Mormon along with the Bible, I have gained my own testimony of Jesus Christ. I know that Jesus is the literal son of God, and I know that He loves me. Christ's church today is the very same church that existed in Bible times because God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. (Mormon 9:9) We are guided by a Prophet today just as Moses led the Children of Israel in times of old.
I know that my Father in Heaven has a special purpose for me and it is only through His gospel that I can reach my divine potential.

How I live my faith

I look for opportunities to share the things I know -- especially concerning the gospel of Jesus Christ.

How is the Book of Mormon different from the Bible? How did Joseph Smith obtain the “golden plates” or Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is a record kept by ancient American prophets that contains the fullness of God's gospel. The Book of Mormon is, in addition to the Bible, a testament of Jesus Christ. It tells of Christ's Ministry in Ancient America, and the trials and blessings of the people at that time. The Book of Mormon adds to the principles learned in the Bible.

Joseph Smith was visited by an angel named Moroni. (one of the prophets who kept record in the book.) He was told of these records- that they were buried in a nearby hill.
Four years later, Joseph was ready to receive the record which was written on golden plates. Joseph was blessed able to translate the plates through inspiration from God. It is named the Book of Mormon- after the prophet Mormon.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Here is a simple step by step instruction on how to know Mormonism is true.

1. Meet with missionaries.
2. Pray to Heavenly Father with real intent and ask something like this, " I want to know if this is Your church, so is this Your church?".
3. READ THE BOOK OF MORMON! Ask God if it is true.
4. Look for an anwser from God. He speaks with us through our thoughts and feelings by the Holy Ghost. Ask the missionaries for more details.
5. Come to church to see for yourself.
6. Keep the commandments that the missionaries teach you.
7. Repeat until answer is received.
