About Me

I have 3 wonderful boys and planning to get married next year to a wonderful LDS woman. My family comes from Mexico where I'm planning to someday retire to. I enjoy flying planes, farming, and just sitting down to watch a good movie.

Why I am a Mormon

My fiancee always tried to push me in the right direction since she was born and raised into the church. I finally set up a meeting with two great sister missionaries who really helped me understand what the church was all about. I fell in love with the gospel. It has changed my life for the best.

How I live my faith

I am the secretary of the Young Men's program. I enjoy spending time with the youth of the church. I'm still learning and being a part of the youth programs is helping tremendously. I also enjoy playing basketball with the men of the church. I am truly blessed.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

A testimony is simply a spiritual witness of truth given to one through the Holy Ghost. The foundation of a testimony starts with a knowledge that Heavenly Father exists and loves you, that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world, and that He suffered and died for us. From this knowledge we build on to know that the scriptures are true, that Joseph Smith was a prophet called of God to restore the fullness of Christ's Gospel to the earth again, and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is God's Kingdom on earth. Anyone who has a desire to have a "testimony" can get one. All one has to do is ask our Heavenly Father in prayer. He knows what's true. He will tell you through His spirit that He exists, that Jesus Christ is your Savior, and anything else you wish to know of a surety. "He will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost." (Moroni 10:4) Show more Show less

A testimony is a personal witness and a confirmation of truth through the Holy Ghost. God loves us enough to answer our questions when we ask them with faith and honest intent and sincerity. The result is that we can be confident that we are actually following God's will because He gives us evidence of the truth. Gaining a testimony doesn't just happen because we ask though, it also requires diligent searching which may include studying the scriptures and praying for as long as it takes to receive an answer, which comes in the Lord's time and wisdom, and according to the scriptures, "after the trial of [our] faith." I can say that I have my own testimony because I have tried this method and I know that it works. God loves us and it isn't necessary that we stay in the dark, especially concerning such important matters as His plan for us, or our Salvation or anything pertaining to those things. What is the difference between attending church and the temple?

We go to church weekly to worship and take the sacrament, which is like communion. Everyone, no matter their faith, is welcome to come to church services and learn more about the Gospel. The temple is a special place where members make further promises to Heavenly Father that they will keep his commandments. It is also where we are married, or sealed together, and where we can be baptized and sealed for our family members who have died before having those opportunities in life. To go to the temple you need a card called a temple reccomend from your church leaders that confirms that you are currently doing your best to follow Christ and His Gospel as a member of the Church.
