Hi, I'm Josh Clare
I'm an artist. I'm a husband. I'm a father... and I'm a Mormon.
About Me
When I was little I dreamed of becoming an animator. I drew all the time. In college I majored in art intending to be a graphic designer or an illustrator; but in my Junior year at BYU-Idaho I took my first Oil Painting class and was hooked. As part of that class we took a trip to Jackson Hole, Wyoming where I visited my first art gallery. It was life changing. Since graduating with a BFA in Illustration in 2007 I've been blessed to be a full-time artist.
Why I am a Mormon
Because I know that the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is, in fact, Christ's church. I know that not because I was born into the church, or because my parents are members, but because I've asked God for myself and received an answer. I know that Jesus Christ Himself directs the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints through His Prophets, His Apostles, and through every individual who is willing to be guided by His Spirit.
Personal Stories
Why do Mormons go on missions?
I went on a mission because I knew that Jesus Christ was really God's Son, and did really die to save us. I had obtained a testimony for myself and wanted to share with others what I had come to know.
How I live my faith
I just try my best to do what God has asked me to do. I have faith that everything he asks me to do will lead to growth and joy--I know it will. I don't live my faith perfectly--in fact I'm a long, long way from being the man and the disciple that I hope to become--but I have faith that God can change my heart and mold me into what I came here to become.
