About Me

I enjoy God's beautiful creations. I love hiking into mountains and Scouting. I enjoy taking martial arts classes. I love to see people happy with nature. I am 150% against foul language, drugs, and all that jazz. I hate caffeine and Mountain Dew. My goals are going on a mission for my church when I'm 19, going to a U.S. Army college, and eventually a career as a cavalry officer. I'd like to marry someday in one of my church's temples.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the Holy Ghost tells me that the church is true- I feel in my heart that it is right.

How I live my faith

I obey the commandments including the 10 recieved by the prophet Moses. I try to help other people and comfort those who are sad. I try to be obedient. In short, I try to be the best person that I can be.

What is done with the tithing that Mormons pay?

The reason I pay my tithing is, 1st we are commanded to in the Bible. The money also goes to help others and build buildings- plain out- it helps people.

The money received from members in the form of tithing goes directly to the headquarters of the church where a council decides what will be done with the money. Here are some ways in which the tithing funds are used:
1. Build, maintain, and operate temples, meetinghouses, and other buildings.
2. Provide operating funds for stakes, wards, and other units of the Church. (These units use the funds to carry out the ecclesiastical programs of the Church, which include teaching the gospel and conducting social activities.)
3. Help the missionary program.
4. Educate young people in Church schools, seminaries, and institutes.
5. Print and distribute lesson materials.
6. Help in family history and temple work.

*It is important to note that tithing funds are not used to pay leaders of the church. All leaders of the church are volunteers and receive no form of pay.

Why was a Restoration of the Gospel needed? Haven’t we always had the Bible?

The Restoration is needed because of the Apostasy. The apostasy is a time foretold of by the prophet in the Bible Amos. In Amos 8:11-12

" Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord:
And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord, and shall not find it."

Amos tells us that there will be a time when the gospel, or "the word of the Lord" will be lost. That time came when Jesus Christ and the Apostles were killed. Even though we still had the bible, there were no prophets or apostles to keep the gospel pure and true. Man was left with their own interpretation of the Bible. As we all know, there are thousands of christian churches all based on the bible, BUT all teach different doctrines. When Christ was on the earth He did not set up thousands of different churches so that there was something different for everyone. He had one church. His church. The prophet Peter tells us that there will be a restitution or a restoration of the gospel, in Acts 3:21

" Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began."

In short, the gospel was lost during the Apostasy and the Restoration brought it back. So, now we have the same gospel that Christ set up when he was on the earth. :)
