About Me

I am Summer. My hobbies include anything crafty, and anything with music. I play the viola, guitar and piano. I really want to learn the trumpet. I also like art. I love to paint and draw. I want to go to BYU and double major in K-3 teaching and music.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love it. I was born into it, and my entire life my testimony has grown. I continue to be a Mormon because of how much my life has been blessed. I love this gospel so much and will never let it go.

Personal Stories

In what ways have your prayers been answered?

I don't know where to start. Well, once I had this big project to do for my science class. I had to build a mouse trap car. The car was going absolutely wonderful, i had spray painted it gold, named it and it drove pretty well. After class one day, I put it in my locker to remember to take it home and do the required test runs for it. After school when I was getting of my stuff ready to go home, I looked at it and thought of what I needed to do with it and why it was in my locker. I had completely forgotten that I needed to do the trial runs! I went home on the bus and I remembered on the bus why I needed it. In my home, if you forget something at school, you don't go get it because we live far away from the school. My friend said I could do it before school. I knew I could get out of my zero hour class early if needed, but I was still scared because of how important grades are to me. I felt like I had failed. I prayed in my emotional state and I knew my friend was right, I could go in early and do it. I prayed for help. I got to school the next morning and grabbed everything I needed for the run including my two friends. We got the tests done right before school and got to class with only one or two minutes to spare. I knew the Lord had helped me to get these tests done that were so important to me.

How can your talents and gifts bless others?

I play the viola in my school orchestra. Last year, I had the chance to play at nursing homes at Christmas. I was so grateful that I was able to go and bring happiness and joy to the people there and that in their condition, were all able to enjoy the time of year. I was so happy that they were happy and you could see their joy when you talked to them. I want to go again and be able to bring them that Christmas spirit. I also had the chance to play for some elderly people at a fancy dinner for Christmas. It was wonderful to see people's faces light up when you played a song they liked or to have people sing with you. It was a truly great experience to bring people such joy around that wonderful time of year.

How I live my faith

I am the secretary of my age group in the girls' youth group. I also participate in all our activities. It is really fun to plan things and then seeing others enjoying them.

What do Mormons believe happens to us after we die? What do Mormons believe about life after death?

When someone dies, they are not gone, they have actually gone home to their father in heaven. Your physical self will die, but your spirit will go on to heaven, where it will enter the spirit world. You will be united with your friends and family who have also gone to heaven. Death is a sad thing while you are on earth, but the comfort of knowing about life after death helps you get through it.

Everyone will be resurrected, at one point. Your spirit and your body will be reunited and will never be separated again. Because Jesus Christ died for us on the cross, we are able to go to heaven. Just remember, the end is only the beginning.

Are Mormons Christians?

In the truest sense of the word, most certainly yes!
The main belief of the mormon church is that of Christ and His Atonement for mankind. We believe that anybody who wants to can be saved through Christ's Sacrifice for us.
Without Christ, our church would be meaningless, void, and pointless. He is the core of this church. In fact, He is the leader and head of this church.
Some people say we don't believe in Christ, but I wholeheartedly disagree; Christ is everything to us - He rescues us from sin and fear, He is the reason for our being.
We celebrate and rejoice in His life and works and know that He lives today! Christ is risen and is ready to help us in our lives.
