About Me

I'm currently working in the financial industry. I am married to a beautiful wife. My various hobbies include golf, muscle cars, building computers, computer games and firearms. I am a Sun Devil and a Cardinals fan.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been all around the block in just about every denomination of the christian faith. My parents' church was whichever had the wealthiest attendees and the best Christmas party. I spent a few years in Catholic school and then a year in a Jesuit school. Shortly thereafter I decided that I couldn't handle the guilt that religion placed on my shoulders. The next 7 years I spent as an Atheist, just because I wanted some peace. Eventually though the thought of a never ending nothingness after I died was more than I could wrap my head around. Being a Mormon has showed me that I do have a eternal life and an eternal companion.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be a good example in the things that I do. I have always lived by the golden rule. Do to those as you would like to be treated. I try extra hard to befriend those of us new to the faith as I remember being new.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

I personally enjoy The Bible as one of my favorite books. I know it is the word of The Lord. As I read the bible, I also tried to study where it came from. Before joining the church, I did believe that the bible was the word of God. But why? I believed in it before reading it... Well, the reason why I know, is because I ask God and He answered me. There is no other way. I wasn't there when it was translated, so how can I know? Some people just believe that it is true because everybody else says so. Heavenly Father can answer our prayers, why don't we ask Him?

What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

We believe that marriage is between one man and one woman. This is an essential nature of the plan of salvation. Families are so important and children can and are only meant to be brought into this world through a man and woman together. This is how God created us. We acknowledge the attractions or inclinations individuals may have, but God has made us to have male/female relationships. We love all of our brothers and sisters. We are all God's children and we should treat each other as such, with love and kindness, but we cannot and will not encourage same-sex relations. We believe in Gay rights and tolerance, as described by Dallin H. Oaks, but will always define marriage as the union of one man and one woman.
