About Me

I am a recently remarried, father of 3 girls. I have relocated to Moses Lake because of a job opportunity. I really like sports and participate in basketball, softball and golf.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Morman because of the difference the gospel makes in my life. I am so grateful to know that if I live worthily I can be with my family forever. That assurance brings peace and focus into my life. I strive everyday to live the gospel to its fullest and to be the best husband and father I can be.

Personal Stories

Can you talk about the missions of the Church and your participation in them?

I was fortunate to serve a mission in the Netherlands. I developed a great love for the people and was able to strengthen my testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I also believe that serving a mission was the cornerstone that has helped me to become the person I am today

Why do Mormons go on missions?

We go on missions for two reasons. To spread the gospel of Jesus Christ and to develop stronger testimony for ourselves

Which of the Savior’s teachings have influenced you in your life?

The Savior's example of servant leadership and his kind acts of charity have provided me a great example to try to strive for

How I live my faith

I am grateful for the opportunity I have to be a priesthood instructor. The weekly lessons have helped me to develop a much fuller understanding of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

What do Mormons believe about family?

In "The Family: A proclamation to the World" many Mormon beliefs about families are outlined. One of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' core beliefs is that family relatioships can last forever--not just for life.

Just as some of life's sweetest joys can come through family associations, the loss of a beloved family member can be a source of our deepest sorrows.

But death does not need to be the end of our relationships with cherished loved ones. The Lord revealed to the Prophet Joseph Smith that the "same sociality which exists among us here will exist amoung us there [in eternity], onl it will be coupled with eternal glory" (Doctrine and Covenants 130:2)

Family members who accept the Atonement of Jesus Christ and follow His example an be together forever through sacred ordinances performed in God's Holy temples. Jesus gave to Peter the power to have things sealed in heaven (Mathew 16:19). This same sealing power was restored to Joseph Smith. Mormon's believe that they can be "sealed" or bound together through His power enabling them to live together in eternity.

The family is a key component to support us in God's plan for gaining immortality and eternal life. All of God's children (all the inhabitants that lived, are living, and will live on Earth) are inseperably connected to each other, both (physically) by our Earthly families and (spiritually) by our Heavenly Father.

Families help us to understand our divine heritage. In this, life takes on purpose and meaning. Our immortal spirits were created by our Heavenly Father before Earthly existance, and we are directly connected to Him in this way. As a spiritual family, our collective purpose on Earth is to follow the commandments of God that lead us to live in heaven with Him again.

Our spirits need to progress, learn, and grow. In order to achieve that, Earthly existance was created as our test. Our Heavenly Father knew that being exposed to opposing forces on Earth was the only way for us to gain knowledge and wisdom.

However, we will not always choose righteousness, and so our Savior, Jesus Christ, is that great mediator to pay the debt of our mistakes. He is the only way by which we can be saved from our sins and transgressions. He is the ultimate example by which direction we need to live our lives. With the support of our earthly kin, we can learn from each other, serve each other, and strengthen our mortal weaknesses by being disciples of Christ. Our families are a gift from God, and we can be together forever.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

We don't worship Joseph Smith. Although we recognize that our faith hinges on whether or not he was a prophet of God, we only worship God, the Father and his Son, Jesus Christ. We honor and respect Joseph Smith in the same way we do Moses, Abraham, or any of the ancient prophets.
