About Me

I am a Mom of three beautiful little girls, and they teach me something new everyday. My husband currently serves active duty in the United States Air Force. I love sports, and grew up playing softball and swimming on a team and lettered in both in High School. I'm studying to be an athletic trainer, and hope that someday I can be on the training team for a University or professional team. I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and absolutely love attending His church.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born LDS. Into my mid-teenage years I decided that it would be way more "fun" to be anything but involved in the LDS church. This drew me away from my family, kept me from keeping my baptismal covenants, kept me away from the blessing of His holy temple, brought me more pain and regret that I should have had to stand, and I no longer knew who I was or where I belonged. I stayed this way for nearly 10 years. Not in a very distant past, I finally found where I needed to be. I needed the Lord at my side. I needed wonderful friends to help lift me up. I needed to serve. I needed to accept my place as a Daughter of God. I know now where I belong and who I am. I am a daughter of my Heavenly Father, who loves me, and I love Him. I belong right beside my Savior, and friends and family, who stand up for what's right. Who stand between the evils of the world and the Adversary. This world, every single day, is getting harder and harder to bear. It's becoming more difficult to make the right choice, and I know that I have to be there to teach my children. I have to be there to support my husband, support my family, support my friends, and support any one out there needing a friend to lean on. I am here to lift their burdens. I know without a doubt that this church is true. That Joseph Smith restored Christ's true church. I know that we have revelation today! And I know that we are worthy to have revelation, just as the Prophets of old. I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior and that He lives. I know Heavenly Father loves me. I know that He loves you. I testify of this truth, in Christ's sacred name. Amen.

How I live my faith

I try to serve! Jesus Christ spent his ministry on Earth serving his fellow Man (as in men AND women). I serve with my military spouse group. I visit 3 women from our church every month. Currently I play the piano for church, and for our church choir. I know I'm not perfect, and perfection will not come in this life, but I try to help those who are in need of help. That is the whole point of this Gospel, to lift those who need lifted and to reach the potential that Heavenly Father knows I'm capable of reaching.

Why don’t women hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How do Mormon women lead in the Church?

The way I have always seen it is, women have been blessed with spiritual intuition. So, essentially, we don't need the Priesthood to administer. We just do it in different ways than the men in serving our callings, taking care of those who need it. Women lead by example and by callings. We are called to lead alongside our Bishoprics/ Branch Presidencies as Relief Society Presidencies. We lead by being Primary (the children) Presidents, Counselors, teachers, leaders, and leading the Young Women. We support our husband's callings. We are not repressed for being women. In fact we are blessed, and are given special treatment!

As a primary president in my ward, I share in the direction and leadership of our ward. I don't feel secondary in any way. Whether you have the priesthood or not, you are still responsible to listen to the direction of the Savior. The priesthood is a tool and power that is the same power of the Savior. It allows the human authority to do work on earth, particularly perform ordinances, and bless others. As if the Savior was here in person during His ministry accounted for in the New Testament. I would use an analogy to compare the priesthood as a car. A car is an amazing tool allowing you to get you from here to there. I don't mind my husband driving and I can offer some navigation or work the radio, as long as we and our children get there.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

When married by earthly power and the authority of man, our vows are "Until death do you part."

We believe that families can be together forever as part of our Heavenly Father's Great Plan of Happiness. His Work and His Glory is to bring to pass the exaltation and eternal life of man. He wants us to be even as He is and to return home to live with Him again.

Through the ordinances of his Holy Temples, God's son's and daughter's are able to make covenants. Through the power of His Holy Priesthood, be sealed together for all of time and eternity as Husband and Wife, parents and children.

Families were designed and instituted by God with the intent that they be forever. The love we feel in this life does not need to be cut off when we die. Those who have already died are not lost us forever. God has mercifully made a way by which all who would accept these saving ordinances can do so, living or dead.

We perform these ordinances for those who have in the past died so that they may have the opportunity of accepting them on the other side if they so choose to do so.
