Why I am a Mormon

When I found out that this church was organized by Jesus Christ, and that his church was alive agin on the earth, I wanted to be a part of it. The more I have given to the church, in terms of effort and committment, the more I have received in return. Joining this church and remaining active in it has proved to be the central force in my life. I would not trade it for anything. It has given me a great family, and great peace.

How I live my faith

I have been privileged to serve in a number of capacities in the church, and each opportunity has helped me become a better person. I've been able to learn as I teach others, and improve my life as I have helped them improve theirs. I have learned to be a better citizen, a better businessman, and a better family man.

Are Mormons Christians?

Yes. We believe Jesus Christ is our Savior and we follow His teachings. We believe He is essential for salvation.

YES. Yes yes yes. What is a Christian? A Christian is a person that believes in Jesus Christ, and believes that Christ did in fact die for us so that we can repent and return to live with him again. He is our Savior and Redeemer. We pray and we worship in the name of Jesus Christ. He is the center of our faith. Jesus Christ is my Savior. He died for me. He loves me. He is my hero, and he is my best friend.

Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

I grew up thinking, at one point, Mormonism was cult. I made this assertion based on nothing but hearsay, and didn't actually know any tenets of the LDS faith. Now, as a person who has thoroughly investigated the sincerity and divine truthfulness of this Church, I can resoundingly say that the Church of Jesus Christ is by no means a cult. I find that the major reason why people think Mormonism is a cult is simply due to a lack of understanding of the Church. For instance, not many people really know that Mormons believe in and strive to be closer to Jesus Christ we believe Him to be our personal savior and redeemer of the world. We read the Bible and know it to be the word of God. We take communion. We have an unpaid clergy. We live to serve others as Christ would have done.

When people take the time to understand what Mormonism is really all about, like I did, they will understand that Mormons are normal people with normal problems, and each of us relies on God to be a better, more Christlike person.
