Jacqueline: homeschool, Dietitian, Arizona, children, Christian, Dwight, Mormon.

Hi, I'm Jacqueline

I'm a homeschool mom of 4 and a Renal Registered Dietitian. I'm also the wife of my handsome husband, Dwight. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I grew up in the great state of Idaho where I lived the vast majority of my life. I met my husband at Idaho State University; we became great friends while he was teaching me to dance...for free! I have absolutely loved living in areas of the country that are so green, namely back east in Pennsylvania and currently in the White Mountains of Arizona. Green represents "life" to me; I love sharing my life with my four children and husband. I have the privilege of being able to homeschool my children and thus have been given the opportunity to spend more time with them as we learn and grow together. I also work part time as a renal Registered Dietitian for dialysis patients. They remind me of the precious gift that life truly is.

Why I am a Mormon

Upon praying and reading the scriptures, I have felt a great love for my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. This developed in me a desire to read the Book of Mormon and ask in prayer if it is true. The overwhelming feeling of love that I felt for me, the content of the Book of Mormon, and all God's children has been the established foundation of my continuing faith and desire to further my spiritual progression by being a Christian and partaking of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints contains the new and everlasting covenants as referred to in Hebrews and the Doctrine and Covenants.

Personal Stories

What have you done successfully to shield your family from unwanted influences?

Wow! The world is rapidly changing and I as a mother want to protect my children from evil of any kind. We have been successful in achieving this through the following ways: 1) Restricting movies to G or PG and eliminating television. 2) Cleaning the kitchen after dinner as a whole family. 3) Reading wholesome, classical books together. 4) Daily family prayer and scripture study. 5) Building relationships through increased communication during dinner, walking to church, and while participating in recreational activities (such as plays, mountain biking, skiing, etc.)

How I live my faith

The thing I love most about the gospel of Jesus Christ is the focus on family and relationships that it teaches. I love reading scriptures with my children in the evening and having gospel discussions with them throughout the day. In between the wiggles, giggles, and occasional squabbles, I see stalwart testimonies and a love of our Savior grow in them.

My husband I and were sealed for all eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple 20 years ago. Wow! Did I really use that high of a number? It is a very rewarding, peaceful, and uplifting experience to continue to return to our Father's house, his temple.

I am currently teaching the adult Gospel Doctrine class each Sunday. We are studying the New Testament. I am also the committee and advancement chair for the scouting program in our church; and believe me when I say that it is a good thing that my husband holds my hand in this responsibility. I am also the "encourager" to help individuals and families obtain preparedness skills/items so that they can become more self-reliant.
