I'm a Mormon. I like the church because it makes sense to me when Christs teachings were explained in depth so that I understand.

About Me

My name is Mike and I am happily married to my wife, Sharon, and I have a pet rabbit named Puddles. I love to cook, travel, read, go to the movies, listen to music, be with my friends and talk with people.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I was converted by the missionaries in 2004. They explained many things about the gospel that felt natural and good to me. They answered many questions on religious subjects that I was confused about and it all started to make lots of sense to me. I know that the church is true and that there are many good people that have similar experiences with the church.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by going to church as much as I can and try to explain how things work in the church to others in my neighborhood community or abroad through the internet. I do my best to live by the gospel by example so that others can see how Jesus and the church can fulfill a void that leaves others feel seemingly empty.

What is the Relief Society?

To me, Relief Society means friendship. It's an opportunity to know and love and learn from other women from so many different backgrounds and situations and ways of looking at life and yet they are truly my sisters! I can't tell you how many times I have been wrestling with an issue in my own life and there, during the course of our class or other conversation, comes the answer. I know that Heavenly Father so often works through others to answer our prayers, and to me Relief Society is a huge example of that. I'm grateful not only for those who reach out to me, but for the opportunies to reach out to others through Relief Society. It is an inspired program and a wonderful asset to my life!

The Relief Society is the organization in the Church where women come together to strengthen, serve, and teach each other. It's Motto is "Charity Never Faileth" which women of the Church live by to bring relief to the weary and down trodden. Women meet as a Relief Society each week to learn about the Gospel and grow closer to Jesus Christ. Women are asked to serve in many capacities within the Relief Society and give of their time and talents. There are also activities where women share skills and do service for those in their community as well as victims of disasters around the world.

I love this question. Having lived in Georgia and having spent time creating friendships with people of all different Christian denominations. I can say with great confidence and vigor that, Yes, Mormons are Christians. All who believe in Christ as our Savior and strive to follow in his footsteps, living as he would have us to, are in definitions Christian or followers of Christ.
