Hi, I'm Laura Runolfson
I'm a Mormon. I'm a Christian. I'm a nurse. I'm a stay-at-home mom.
About Me
I am a mom of three high energy girls. Even though I am a nurse, I feel blessed to be able to be at home with my girls for this season of my life. I enjoy spending time with my little family or extended family when we can get together. I enjoy bargain shopping and keeping things organized around my house. I grew up in Utah but have lived outside of Utah 8 or so years of my adult life. Through these years, I've enjoyed meeting people in the community who have my same values. Even though our religions may differ, I enjoy learning from them and appreciate then having quality friends for my children to associate with. There are still plenty of good people in the world.
Why I am a Mormon
I belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I love my Savior Jesus Christ. I know this is His church that he taught the people when he lived on Earth. I know it was then later restored through the prophet Joseph Smith. I know that since I was baptized a member of this church at the age of eight, everyday since, I represent Christ's name and try to become more like Him each day. It is comforting to know that I can repent everyday of my mistakes and imperfections and work towards my goal of returning to live with my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ someday. I am grateful for the peace, joy and direction this religion has given me throughout my life. I know we have a loving Heavenly Father that knows us individually and watches over us. I am grateful that I feel that love when I pray. I am grateful for temples; That because I was married there, my children are sealed to me and my husband forever. I appreciate the peace & clarity I feel there when I visit any of the temples.
How I live my faith
I am the primary president in our ward. I learn so much from these sweet little children. I know they are strong valiant spirits that have been saved to come to Earth to live in these latter days. They are strong spirited little people to be able to stand for truth and righteousness amongst much evil in the world today. I am in awe of their meekness and purity of heart. I feel they are whom Jesus would mingle with if he were here.
I enjoy visiting teaching a number of sisters each month in our ward. It gives me a chance to get to know them better. My love for them grows, I appreciate them, and then hopefully after establishing a better friendship, they feel comfortable calling on me for help in their time of need. If it wasn't a specific assignment, it isn't something that most of us would do within our busy life schedules. So, it gives us an extra push to do what we know we should- Get out and visit and befriend each other more than we would otherwise.
