About Me

I am in college majoring in musical theatre. I love my family and friends. I love to play piano, hike, sing, act, and dance. I love ballroom dancing especially! I was home schooled through all of grade school. I love green-jello salad, and I love superpower/superhero stuff :) Being spontaneous rocks, and I try to make someone's day brighter every day.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it gives me guidance, direction, and happiness in my life. It helps me constantly become a better person and think about the bigger picture. It inspires me to help others and choose the right.

I know this gospel is true because I wouldn't feel so at peace and happy about everything I learn if it were false. The Spirit guides and comforts me every day of my life, and I know that I wouldn't be able to do anything as well without God's grace. I am so thankful that Jesus Christ atoned for my sins so I can return to live with my Heavenly Father. I am so glad to know that I am a child of God.

How can your talents and gifts bless others?

I can use my talents to help others feel the Spirit especially with music. I can also do service with gifts I've been given, and I can help everyone I come in contact with have a better day by sharing my gifts.

How has the Holy Ghost helped you?

The Holy Ghost helps me everyday of my life. I pray to have the Holy Ghost with me so that I can make the right decisions and be protected and comforted. Also, I am sometimes prompted by the Holy Ghost to help others. The Holy Ghost helps me to be happy and feel at peace, even when things aren't going right.

How I live my faith

I try to do what I know is right, and be the best person I can be. I try to be a good example, and hope to inspire others.

What is a ward/stake/branch?

There is a lot of vocabulary that is unique to Mormonism, including the terms we use for our congregations.

A ward is a local congregation, usually made up of between 200-600 members. Wards have specific geographic boundaries, so which ward you attend would depend on where you live. A ward is presided over by a lay priesthood holder called a bishop.

A branch is similar to a ward, except it is smaller. They range in size from a single family to the size of a small ward. Generally, branches are in areas without a significant Mormon population, specific to a language, or for individuals who are single. Branches do not have bishops, but are presided over by a branch president.

A stake is a larger organization in the church. Several wards and branches, frequently around 12, will comprise a stake. The stake is able to support the wards and branches through additional resources and leadership. Stakes are presided over by stake presidents.
