I worked for Federal Civil Services for 27 years. The military is awesome, a fact attested to by my son. Since I've been retired, I've developed an intrest in art, an intrest I passed to my son. I am a redheaded Californian and I am a mormom.

Why I am a Mormon

Because I believe it to be the only true church and I believe that Joseph Smith was a true prophet.

How has the Holy Ghost helped you?

I had been having a hard time in my life, and I questioned why I felt like I was stuck in the middle of no where in Arizona City. But when I found The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints I found my answer by having received the true Gospel in my life.

How I live my faith

Currently I attend church and my meetings and I learn about the gospel whenever I can.

Joseph Smith was a man that lived in the 1800 's and through whom God restored his church to the earth. At a young age (14) Joseph was confused about religion and which church he should join. He believed that God was not the author to so much contradictory doctrine and confusion and he wanted to do Gods will. He prayed to know from God what he was to do, and which church he should join. In answer to his humble prayer, Joseph saw God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ. He was told to join none of the religions on the earth and that at a future date Joseph would be instrumental in restoring Gods church and priesthood power and authority to the earth. He was called as a prophet, seer and revelator. He translated an ancient record now called the Book of Mormon which is another testament of Jesus Christ. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe happens to us after we die? What do Mormons believe about life after death?

We believe that everyone, regardless of the kind of life they live, will live again through resurrection just as Jesus Christ does. But our bodies will no longer be subject to death, disease and other infirmities that are challenges of this life. This is particularly important to our family because our youngest child is severely handicapped. He is a great blessing in our lives, but we look forward with hope to the day when he will be freed from his disability. This is what Christ meant when he said that all men would be saved -- saved from death and the conditions of this mortal life. We also believe that once resurrected, we will be accountable for how we lived our lives and be judged by the standard of His teachings -- which all men and women will eventually have the opportunity to accept or reject. Therefore, learning of Christ and developing faith in Him enough to follow Him leads to a salvation that depends both on our works and His grace. That salvation can ultimately mean living in His presence together with our families. Show more Show less
