I'm a Christian, a father, a skier, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love being a dad. We like to go hiking and biking and camping as a family. I love to go skiing, but it's so expensive for a family that I don't go nearly as much as I'd like to.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in Utah, but was raised agnostic. When I was 21 I said a prayer asking if there was a true church, religion or philosophy. The next day, the missionaries showed up at my house asking if they could share a message about the purpose of life and Jesus Christ. It wasn't just that they had shown up, but it was the feeling in my heart that told me my prayer had been answered. I've been a member ever since.

How I live my faith

We try to help out on as many service projects in the community as we can, like Eagle Scout projects, food drives, people who need help moving and the like. I also get to teach gospel principles on Sunday.

What are Mormon Temples used for?

A temple is a house of the Lord, a place where we may worship our Heavenly Father and feel of His presence. It is a sacred place where no unclean thing can enter. Because of the importance and sacredness of the temple, a temple recommend is required and is received based on individual worthiness within the church in order to enter its holy walls.

The temple is where I go to find answers, to find peace, and to feel the Spirit. We are encouraged to go as often as possible and to attend seeking Spiritual guidance. Inside we perform sacred ordinances for ourselves and more often for others, those who are deceased. God requires that all to make covenants in order to return to His presence and many died without the opportunity to make these covenants. In the temple we perform the ordinances for them in their name giving them the opportunity to reject or accept the ordinance and thus enter into the presence of the Father. The temple is a very sacred and holy place.

They are peaceful, pure places, where only those who have committed to live the most discipled lives can go to ponder and pray. They are places where we learn about God's plan for all of humanity, and where we promise to do all in our power to help all of His children, and receive promises that we can be with Him as well. We wear white clothing that is simple, and remove our watches and bling, to demonstrate a willingness to let go of our day-to-day concerns to focus on the real things: people, and their worth to God.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Mormon women are like any other good woman who is trying her best to raise a family in love and trying to leave the world a little better for future generations.

Mormons do believe in equality of men and women. We believe husband and wives are to work side by side, not one dominating over another. But equality does not mean being exactly the same. We believe that God gave men and women distinct and different roles/assignments to fulfill. Men are primarily responsible for the physical welfare of their families while women are to nurture and care for their families. Although the roles are different each one is important and critical.
