Hi, I'm Trent
I'm a teacher, a father, and a huge book fan. I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I taught English to 7th graders for several years. Now, I am in school so I can become a principal. I have a young daughter and one on the way. We are very excited! I love to read and have a big book collection. I'm always reading something or learning about new books. I also love to hike and spend time outdoors. It is one of our favorite family pastimes.
Why I am a Mormon
People sometimes think that if you are born in the church, you automatically have a testimony. That is definitely not true. I've worked for my testimony much like everyone has to. I've studied and prayed about the Book of Mormon and know that it's true. One of the bedrocks of my testimony is the Joseph Smith story. I love that story and have felt the truthfulness of it so many times. My favorite gospel principle, though is the one of eternal families. I love my immediate and extended family so much, and am so excited to have them forever. That is one of the great blessings of the gospel made possible through Jesus Christ.
How I live my faith
It's hard to live any faith without dedication and sacrifice each day. I live my faith by doing what I am supposed to do each day. I read the scriptures and I pray. In church, I've been asked to play the organ and I pray about that calling and pray that the music I play can inspire people and help them. I also live my faith by trying to be a good husband and father. I make spending time with my family a priority (which isn't easy given my job and school situation). I love spending time with them, and I've been so blessed from that time well spent!
