I enjoy football,NASCAR,loom knitting,reading and computers. I am married to a wonderful man and we have a beautiful parrot who allows us to reside with him.

Why I am a Mormon

In my youth I was involved in drugs and drinking. I have attended many churches and different religons never finding what I was looking for. At the age of 57 two missionaries showed up at my door. I was given a Book of Mormon and asked to read and pray on it. I was invited to attend services and just went to be nice to the missionaries. The minute I walked in the door I felt at home and I felt the Spirit. I was baptised. I know that this is the True Church.. AND I am proud to be a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I try to read my Book of Mormon and Bible daily. I am learning more and more as I do my best to live the word. I enjoy attending Ward activities with my church family.

Are there restrictions based on race or color concerning who can join The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and have the priesthood?

No. There have never been any race-related restrictions on who joins the church. People of all races and colors have been baptized from the beginning.

However, for a period of time priesthood ordinations in the Church were restricted - This policy was officially changed in 1978 when Official Declaration declared that “every faithful, worthy man in the Church may receive the holy priesthood, with power to exercise its divine authority, and enjoy with his loved ones every blessing that flows therefrom, including the blessings of the temple. Accordingly, all worthy male members of the Church may be ordained to the priesthood without regard for race or color.”

No. We are fortunate enough in these days to have the blessings of the gospel and the Priesthood available to all. Unlike other times throughout the world's history, God has offered the Priesthood to every worthy male. Women are able to enjoy the blessings of the Priesthood through these men, and are invaluable in blessing the world through their attributes.
