Why I am a Mormon

I believe the purpose of life is to learn, to grow, to improve myself, and to prepare to return to God. God gives instructions for happiness in the form of commandments. I'm a mormon because I want to follow God so that I can be happy and so that I can learn and grow.

How I live my faith

I am the Choir Director in my ward. I love finding ways to express my love for our Savior Jesus Christ through beautiful music. I enjoy sharing music that helps others to feel God's love for us and provides inspiration and encouragement.

I strive to teach my children to love and follow God, and to love and serve our neighbors. I try to apply the scriptures to ourselves.

What is the attitude of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

While I do not condone it, I will never look down on anyone for living a homosexual lifestyle. One of the greatest things God has given us is the right to choose, and I work hard not to judge anyone for the choices they make. I believe the church feels the same way. While not condemning those people who live said lifestyle, according to ancient and modern prophets, God has never condoned such a way of life. Therefore, the church continues to preach relationships and marriage between man and a woman, and families consisting of such an organization.

We read in Genesis that one of God's first commandments to Adam and Eve was to "multiply and replenish the Earth." We believe that marriage between a man and a woman is ordained of God, and the only appropriate means of multiplying and replenishing the Earth. Keeping this in mind, any sexual act that takes place that is not between a man and a woman, joined together in marriage, is forbidden.
