I was born into the church. Both my parents are members and I've been a member my whole life.

Personal Stories

How can your talents and gifts bless others?

I perform in theater all the time. I love showing my love for theater with others. When I get onstage, I don't think about myself, I think about who I'm doing this for, and how I'm sharing my talent from Heavenly Father with others.

How I live my faith

I participate in Young Womens, and do my Personal Progress. I go the the temple whenever I get the chance. I go to church every Sunday with my family.

Do Mormons practice polygamy?

No.

The Church has not practiced polygamy since 1890. Any member found to be practicing plural marriage is excommunicated from the Church. We are not affiliated with any group currently practicing polygamy.

No, we don't. People typically mix up Mormons with their reformed break offs. Several of those groups practice polygamy, even though historically the commandment from the Lord to have plural marriages has been repealed.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Mormon women are exactly like non-Mormon women in many ways. Some of us are stay-at-home mothers, while other Mormon women work outside the home. Regardless of our circumstances or choices in terms of employment, we try to work with our husbands and families as a team to get things taken care of within our homes.

My husband is my partner and my best friend and vice versa for him. He doesn't "rule over me" any more than I would do the same to him. We are equal partners in our eternal marriage. The church teaches us to be kind to our families as well as our friends and we want to make our homes a kind of spiritual refuge for everybody.
