Bob: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Bob

I am a Native of Arvada, Colorado. I am a Building Contractor and I enjoy sports cars and being active, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married to very beautiful wife and have two great sons that are developing into great men. I am a building contractor.
I serve in the Church. I serve in the community as an elected official in Parks & Recreation. It is great fun to see big grins at the facilities that I am responsible for and to help provide many opportunities for the people of this community to be active. This also involves being active in all politics and working with most elected officials thru out the state.
I enjoy sports, skiing, and being active. I have taught the blind to ski. What fun to see these people find something that they never thought that they could do. Lots of big grins and laughs as they find the pleasure of sliding down the slopes on their own. They have taught me many things about life from a different perspective.
I am a motor head that enjoys restoring, showing and racing cars. I am drawn to mainly sports cars but I appreciate anything that has a motor. Particularly things that go fast.

Why I am a Mormon

There is a number of Mormon Pioneers in my family tree, however I had to learn on my own about the blessings and happiness that being a member of this great Church brings to me. Having the knowledge of where I came from, why I am here, and what happens after this life is such comfort when trials are placed before me, such as losing loved ones or just day to day challenges. It also gives me greater appreciation of the important things in life such as family and friends and why I am here at this time.
Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has given me the knowledge that Jesus Christ lives and he continues to guide his people today. It is a great blessing to know that he suffered and died for us so that we can return to our Father in Heaven. He is there for us and he loves us.
These things I have had to study and pray about on my own. It was thru the Holy Ghost that I have had the truths confirmed to me.

Personal Stories

Can you talk about the missions of the Church and your participation in them?

I had the opportunity to serve in the Seattle Washington area as a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It was a blessing to teach and work with many wonderful people from that area. I saw many people join the Church and watched them grow as they accepted the Church and made Jesus Christ a central part of their life.
This experience helped me gain so much experience and direction for the rest of my life that I could not have found in any other way.

Please explain the part prayer plays in your life?

As we have been experiencing economic difficulties especially in the building industry prayer has helped guide me and has given me great comfort. It helps give me the direction I need in all parts of my life even though I do not always find the answers right away they do come and are answered.

How I live my faith

Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ gives me a different perspective of everything that I do in my life. It gives me a compass to make decisions whether it is the way that I do business, make decisions about direction for community or how I raise my family.
Daily prayer is of most importance to help guide me and find answers many things that come my way.
