Why I am a Mormon

Put simply: the Church is true! I read the Book of Mormon daily, and prayed to know if it was true, and the Holy Spirit revealed to me that the LDS church is the restored church of Jesus Christ. One cannot deny a truth revealed divinely. When I'm living the gospel, I'm happier and I definitely feel more blessed. Others may perceive that I'm "missing out" on some of the temporal things life offers, but I know that those things don't necessarily grant happiness. Following the gospel of Jesus Christ is the only way to insure for yourself an eternity of happiness!

How I live my faith

I try to be an example and a positive influence on others. I try to model my behavior after that of our Savior, Jesus Christ. I strive to keep the Commandments and live as my Heavenly Father would have me live.

Do Mormons practice polygamy?

No, Mormons or members of The Church of Jesus Christ do not practice polygamy. The church has nothing whatsoever to do with the practice of polygamy. People who practice polygamy are not Mormons or members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. If any members of the church are found practicing plural marriage, they are excommunicated, which is the most serious penalty the Church can impose. Not only are those involved in direct violation of the civil law, they are in violation of the law of this Church.

No, we don't. People typically mix up Mormons with their reformed break offs. Several of those groups practice polygamy, even though historically the commandment from the Lord to have plural marriages has been repealed.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Believing in Christ is believing in his perfection. Being perfect he will always do what is in the best interests of his people. In times past man has needed the assistance of great men to help them in their journey home. That need has never changed. In fact, there has never been a greater need of a prophet to guide the people than there is right now.
