I'm loving my life because i belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints(they call us a mormon). =)

About Me

I've been a member of TCJLDS before i was born and gains wisdom as my parents stayed active at the church till now. Me and my siblings grew up away from our hometown because my dad was working at church and transferred for almost 10+ different houses. Because of that, i always feel so lonely while saying "goodbye" with my friends. As i grow up seeing that the church never changes wherever we go, i was so grateful knowing that the Lord is guiding and comforting me so that i will never feel alone again.

Why I am a Mormon

I love learning the facts taught by the church. I love the good things and i'm really guilty when i disobey. I love it when someone shares their testimony about the church and stayed so strong with it. I love the feeling of being a Latter-day Saint. And because of that feeling, I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church here in this earth.

When i was just a kid i have been disciplined not to do things that would annoy others especially the Lord. At the church, i learned that i am a child of God and as i turned 8 i made a covenant to be as good as He is. As a daughter of God i wanted to be like my Father in Heaven and let Him know that i love Him too and someday be exalted in His kingdom.

Why do Mormons go on missions?

As a member of the church, we offer ourselves to declare to all that the fullness of the gospel of God was restored again upon the earth. Because we know that the church was true we also wanted to share these blessings to all.

As I grow up, the story of a friend who gave the curiosity to my father about the church caught my attention. My dad was taught by the missionaries with a name tag stating they were Elders of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. As i learned about it, i decided to know more about what was the missionaries were telling to people like my father convincing them to be baptized.

I started working with sister missionaries after graduating high school. I shared my testimony, what i believed, my idea in some of the scripture passages. I even conducted Home Visits with youth friends and then we prepared some scriptural thoughts to share. I was also strengthened with the testimonies i heard from others.

I enjoyed doing it realizing that i can be a missionary too without a name tag. I did have a desire to serve on a mission because i know the church was true and i am willing to be an instrument of the Lord to share the gospel to all.

How I live my faith

As i attend ecclesiastic classes(seminary/institute) and then studying the Book of Mormon, praying and pondering about it, i came up reading Doctrine and Covenants 9:8-9 telling me that:

"...you must study it out in your mind;
then you must ask me if it be right,
and if it is right I will cause that your bosom shall burn within you;
therefore, you shall feel that it is right..."

The first time ever that i have finished reading the Book of Mormon i feel so happy and about such things i can't explain. Although i haven't seen God through my eyes this feeling inside gave me assurance that what i have read was true. I am striving to be more diligent in reading the scriptures, going to church early, being nice and a good example to my friends and many more things to strengthen my testimony about my faith. I am sharing my beliefs to some of my non-member friends because i want them to know what i know now.

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

A temple is literally a house of the Lord, it is the most holy of any place of worship on the earth. Sacred ordinances are performed inside that is why we must be worthy before we can enter there by keeping the commandments such as regularly attending church sacraments, church meetings and activities; reading the scripture; pray regularly; sustain the leaders of the church; keep the word of wisdom and many other things to do.

We do this because of our faith in the Lord that these ordinances (baptism for the dead, family sealing, temple marriage, etc.) are essential in His plan of salvation.

I believe that families can be together forever. I know that the Temple is the House of the Lord and i love visiting His House to offer my service in building up His kingdom.

Recently I taught a Sunday School lesson about the Apostle Paul who was cast into jail because of being falsely accused of taking non-jews into the holy parts of the ancient temple. The penalty for doing so was death. It caused me to think of the sacredness of the temple, and that people throughout history have gone through a preparation process in order to approach God through temple worship.

In our time, both members of the church and non-members who have not prepared are turned away from the sacred parts of the temple not because of secrets, but rather due to the sacred nature of the temple and the preparation required to go there. Anyone can go to the temple, given they prepare themselves and demonstrate that preparation in a visit with those responsible for qualifying persons for entrance to the temple.

I love the peace that comes from being in the temple, having prepared myself to approach the Lord in His house. I feel His Spirit there. I am grateful that others who are there have prepared themselves in the same way.

Anyone who wants to know more about the nature of the temples can ask any missionary what it takes to qualify to go there. My personal experience and witness is that it is worth qualifying oneself and experiencing the beauty and peace that is constantly there.

What do Mormons believe happens after we die?

We were so very sad when our very special eleven year old grandson died in 2009. He suffered from life threatening asthma from birth and was often in hospital. He caught a virus which attacked his heart causing it to go into a dangerous rhythm, which eventually stopped his heart. Every attempt was made to save him but to no avail. The night he died, I thought I might die too - I was so overcome with grief. I was grieving not only for him but for our daughter and her family too. I received enormous comfort from my family and friends, especially those in the church and the outpouring of love and support was indescribable. However, the most comfort I received was my knowledge that I absolutely knew that we would see him again in the next life and that our family would be together forever in the eternities. I was also comforted to know that our grandson would be free from his health problems and be able to have peace. Even though I miss him terribly, I know he is happy and with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I feel his spirit around me often. I know with total conviction that the Lord has unconditionally supported all of our family through this trial and continues to do so daily.
