About Me

I'm 19, grew up in a small dieing town where all we have to claim is our world famous rodeo! A month after I graduated high school at 17, I moved to a place called Celaya, Guanajuato, Mexico as a foreign exchange student. Having played rugby for years before, I quickly joined the local rugby team, a university which had previously been consecutively crowned 4 time national champions. I trained hard and impressed the coaches enough to be allowed to join the team! I would later find out that I would one of their starters and be allowed to travel all over the country to play for them!I lived there for 1 year, learning the language and culture, traveling, and playing for the Celaya Bulldogs!

I have since been home for a time and am working and preparing to be an LDS missionary in Brazil

Why I am a Mormon

The Book of Mormon is evidence of the restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We are promised that if we pray with sincerity and with faith to God about the Book of Mormon, the truthfulness will be shown to us by the Holy Ghost. I have tested that principle personally; the Book of Mormon is the word of God.

How I live my faith

In my town, I go to church with a group or branch of young single adults; it's legit. My church leaders have asked me to act as a ward missionary of sorts, visiting people in the area, finding out their personal needs, addressing them, and offering help and healing through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I find as I serve the people of my town, I learn to love them in a way only service and charity can bring. Thats how I live my Faith; "Love on Another".

How is the Book of Mormon different from the Bible? How did Joseph Smith obtain the “golden plates” or Book of Mormon?

The Bible is made up of the Old Testament and the New Testament. The book of Mormon is "Another Testament" - front cover and subtitle of the Book of Mormon.

God did and does reveal his Gospel in every dispensation to his Prophets. "Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secrets into his servants the prophets" Amos -3:7. He revealed his Gospel to his prophet Adam, and again to Moses. Jesus Christ restored his Gospel when He lived on the Earth. After a falling a way, which is sometimes called the "Great Apostasy", God revealed his Gospel again to the Earth through a prophet, just as he did before; his name is Joseph Smith.

God revealed the book of Mormon, a record of Christ's dealings in the Americas, through an Angel to Joseph in 1823. We read, study, and accept the Bible as doctrine just as we do the Book of Mormon.

How do I become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon Church)?

You definitely can learn about the Gospel of Christ (Faith, Repentence, Baptism, Receiving the Gift of the Holy Ghost, and Enduring to the End) from the missionaries and then follow the steps to apply these in your life. When you truly live the Gospel of Jesus Christ, you will do this thorugh the proper preisthood authority of God. A natural consequence is becoming a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints!
