About Me

I'm the father of 3 beautiful children; I love them and my wife immensely. I work as a software engineer and really enjoy it. When time permits, I enjoy watching and playing soccer.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 12, my 10 year old brother died on a school trip. Upon hearing the news, I was confused and somewhat angered. I could not understand why God would let this happen.

A few weeks after my brother's death, while praying, my Father in Heaven comforted me. I knew right then and there that my brother would be OK, and that I would meet him again some day.

Through that, and many other experiences, I've come to know that Heavenly Father is truly the Father of my spirit. I've received confirmation time and time again that Jesus is indeed my Savior, and that he cares deeply and personally for me. I feel gratitude for their love and patience towards me.

How I live my faith

While attending college I learned that everything I do, I can do in order to serve my God and my brothers and sisters here on earth.

I've also come to learn that the most important thing I can do is to be a good example for my children and to love my wife. I think about my responsibilities as a father daily, and it gives me much joy to see my children growing up in righteousness.

I live my faith by loving my wife, and teaching correct principles to my children.

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

In the temple, members make sacred covenants that will allow them to return to God's presence as eternal families.

Because of the sacred nature of these covenant, only members who are worthy and prepared to make these covenants are allowed to enter.

In the Temple we are taught some pretty powerful truths about who we are, where we came from, and why we are here. It's not the kind of experience you can just walk into and get. There is significant spiritual preparation and learning needed first. It's better to be prepared and enjoy the fullness of the experience than to rush into it too quickly and end up confused. The ordinances in the temple also require that you prepare yourself to have a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and God the Father. The best way to prepare for the Temple ordinances is to begin living their teachings consistently before entering the Temple. This is your way of showing Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father that you love them, obey them, and are ready for additional light and knowledge. Without this preparation, any ordinance of the Gospel would be an empty set of rituals. The Temple, in its fullest sense, prepares men and women to return and live with God as His sons and daughters. Anyone in the world can experience the power and beauty of the Temple, but a wise Heavenly Father has set out certain guidelines for their personal preparation first. Those who love Jesus Christ and walk in His ways will find in the Temple a power beyond their comprehension and a closeness to God not possible anywhere else in the world.

What is the difference between attending church and the temple?

We go to church weekly to worship and take the sacrament, which is like communion. Everyone, no matter their faith, is welcome to come to church services and learn more about the Gospel.

The temple is a special place where members make further promises to Heavenly Father that they will keep his commandments. It is also where we are married, or sealed together, and where we can be baptized and sealed for our family members who have died before having those opportunities in life.

To go to the temple you need a card called a temple reccomend from your church leaders that confirms that you are currently doing your best to follow Christ and His Gospel as a member of the Church.
