About Me

Well I have an interest of a bunch of things. I do like photography alot and I also want to try out learning to D.j. I also want to eventually go to college to get a degree of some kind in the future. I am hoping to be a mother in the next few years or so. My favorite things are going shopping (of course because I am a girl!), cooking and baking, excercising, going out to do recreational stuff (e.g Rollercoasters, waterparks, vacation spots, etc), hanging out with friends, and last but certainly not least...Spending time with my husband!

Why I am a Mormon

Let me start by saying that I was a investigator in other religions. I just didn't feel right when entering another church. I didn't feel the spirit with me. I then one hot afternoon saw these missionaries who I have been friends with since and they showed themselves to be full of the spirit. I then had that sudden urge to walk up to them and learn more about the mormon religion. I was only 9 at the time but I knew something was telling me to join the LDS church. I was baptised at 10 and ever since, been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. My testimony is that without being a member of the church, I would of been worse off in life and that I would be a stray. I knew my Heavenly Father was watching over me that day that I wanted to know more about this wonderful religion. I alot of members say he lives and it's true, he does live and loves all of us dearly!

Please explain the part prayer plays in your life?

When praying to my Heavenly father, I feel this big connection with him. When I need something (e.g. answers to my problems or something I need), he will give them to me through the holy ghost. When praying, I also feel at peace and calm to know what is needed in my life. Nobody has to use specific words or phrases when talking with your Father in Heaven. We can talk to him like we do with others here on earth. When nobody else wants to listen to what you have to say, you have that power to pray to your Heavenly Father and he DOES listen! He answers your prayers through the Holy Ghost (Which is part of our Heavenly Father) and when he answers, you have that feeling of assurance to know that everything is going to be ok!

How does making right choices help us make more right choices?

When you make the right choices, your showing a good example not only with others but with yourself. Making the right choices and knowing you made the right choices makes you feel good about what you've done and also make you feel better about yourself. So when you do whats right and know it, you feel so good that you want to continue doing good because you feel good about doing good and eventually, it becomes a habit of doing good and making the right choices that you cannot stop making those right choices. The more you do it, the more wise you become as well and being wise is good!

How I live my faith

Of course I continue to go to church, I also help out the community. Both big and little things like opening a door for the elderly or helping out the disabled. I do my very best to help out anybody of need that needs help. I also pray alot and read my scriptures everyday and everynight and the more I have done that, the more my spirit grew stronger along with my faith.

  • What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

    For me, God's plan for us is about families, a husband and wife and kids. But all people are children of God who deserve love and respect, including those who have different views about same sex marriage. However, when I really don't know, I turn to what prophets of God have said.

    “People inquire about our position on those who consider themselves so-called gays and lesbians. My response is that we love them as sons and daughters of God. They may have certain inclinations which are powerful and which may be difficult to control. Most people have inclinations of one kind or another at various times. If they do not act upon these inclinations, then they can go forward as do all other members of the Church. If they violate the law of chastity and the moral standards of the Church, then they are subject to the discipline of the Church, just as others are.

    “We want to help these people, to strengthen them, to assist them with their problems and to help them with their difficulties. But we cannot stand idle if they indulge in immoral activity, if they try to uphold and defend and live in a so-called same-sex marriage situation. To permit such would be to make light of the very serious and sacred foundation of God-sanctioned marriage and its very purpose, the rearing of families” (Ensign, Nov. 1998, 71).

    When I think of how hard this must be for many, I think of our faith in Jesus Christ. He loves us and has given us guidance through prophets, we just need to follow.
