About Me

I am the first generation in my family to recieve a college degree and I have taught grades K-6 in Native American communities for 15 years.

Why I am a Mormon

My grandparents where converts to the church and my parents were also members. I have been blessed with parents who taught me the power of prayer and instilled in me the teaching of Jesus Christ and the example he set for me to follow in his footsteps. I know that I am a daughter of God who loves me and who been by my side as i endured the trials of this life.

How I live my faith

I have been blessed with the talent to teach and have taught ages 5-18 in church positions and in public school, I have used prayer to assist with my teaching to touch the hearts and minds of those I teach.

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

There are doctrinal answers to why we believe we need a Savior to redeem us from the Fall of Adam and to return us to our Father in Heaven that you'll probably come across here. But let me tell you why I need a Savior personally and what He does for me. Christ suffered personally for my pains, sorrows, and sins so that if I ask Him too, He can take them from me. I have been the victim of abuse in my life, and yet through Him I have been able to lay it all at His feet, freely forgive, feel peace, find love, and understand how important negative life experiences can be in teaching us humility. Daily He takes my pain and replaces it with pure love so that I am no longer a victim, but a victor. I need a Savior because He knows me, and through him my flaws become strengths and my pain becomes peace.

The fundamental principle of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the faith in, reliance upon, and relationship with Jesus Christ. We regard Jesus Christ as the Savior of the world. Everyone on the earth today has made mistakes. All of us have come short of the perfect example that Christ set for us. The problem is the laws of God state that “no unclean person…hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.” (Ephesians 5:5) Because of these laws, we needed a way to be cleansed from these sins and mistakes. God knew that we would fall short of perfection and by His grace he provided us a Savior, Jesus Christ. Being a perfect soul without blemish, Jesus was capable and willing to take upon Himself our sins. Because He paid the penalty for our sins, the atonement, we must take upon ourselves His name to reap the blessings of forgiveness. We do this by having faith in Christ, admitting and repenting of our sins, and being baptized in the true and restored church of Jesus Christ.

What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

We believe that marriage is between one man and one woman. This is an essential nature of the plan of salvation. Families are so important and children can and are only meant to be brought into this world through a man and woman together. This is how God created us. We acknowledge the attractions or inclinations individuals may have, but God has made us to have male/female relationships. We love all of our brothers and sisters. We are all God's children and we should treat each other as such, with love and kindness, but we cannot and will not encourage same-sex relations. We believe in Gay rights and tolerance, as described by Dallin H. Oaks, but will always define marriage as the union of one man and one woman.
