Hi, I'm JD
I grew up in East Texas. I'm a ballroom dancer and I'm also a Mormon.
About Me
I'm a student on a mission to figure out what I want to be when I grow up. I love social ballroom dancing. I frequent the salsa club at least once a week. I love riding my motorcycle and hope to one day create my own cafe racer. I joined the Army National Guard in High School before I left for my two year mission in Chile. I was a Cavalry Scout and later went to school to be a MetalWorker for the military. I'm currently joining the Air Force as a Contracting Apprentice. I think ping pong is the ultimate sport of men. I could listen to Jack Johnson all day. I can't sing so don't ask. I love my two cats. I'm a mormon.
Why I am a Mormon
It's a feeling you can't deny. When I read the Book of Mormon with a desire to know if it was true or not. I felt good, complete, whole...When I prayed for a confirmation of those feelings, I received a comfort from my Father in Heaven that what I was reading and feeling were indeed true and from Him. The witness of the Spirit after thoughtfully seeking out the answer wrought the concrete affirmation in my heart and has never faltered. I'm Mormon because when I live the teachings of the church I feel better and more protected against the uncertainty of this world. I'm a Mormon because I believed and acted on that belief.
How I live my faith
I live my faith every day through the sum of all my choices. I choose to obey because I must and I serve because I know that's what the Lord would have me do. I have served in teaching positions and with the youth. Hardest thing I ever did was be a Scoutmaster though.
