Hi, I'm Rosita
I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I am a golden age citizen that loves life and the adventures and blessings that come with it. I am a Mormon living in Texas.
I was born and raised in Mexico City, I come from good righteous parents. I enjoyed a healthy living and as a child I had so much fun! I was a tomboy, I played mostly with my brother Quique's friends till I was 15. I married at 19, young but I thought at that time I had made a good decision. My husband was a U.S. citizen so we came to live in Oakland, California.
It was here in the U.S. that I met the missionaries of our Church and was blessed tremendously by it. I love my church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
I have six gorgeous children. I love my kids and grand-kids and my sons in law.
We have so much fun at church with children learning the bible stories and singing beautiful songs aimed at God to make him happy. I love my church.
I am retired from American Airlines, great company. After my retirement from them I decided to go back to the University Of Texas in Arlington and get my Bachelor's degree. I was 55 at that time and after graduation I worked as a Spanish teacher for 9-10 graders. I have great respect for all teachers, it is hard work, demanding and it is done only for love not for the pay. I also retired from teaching.
But I do love to teach at church. We, the members all contribute without pay in building the kingdom of God on the earth.
Why I am a Mormon
When I was in High School in Mexico City, my teacher wanted us to read the Bible in the Literature class. My priest said NO, and he only read the bible in Latin on Sundays at church, which I could not understand. I told my dad I had a conflict and I did not wish to go to church anymore since I could not understand the priest and he would not allow us to read the word of God. He understood and allowed me to stay home on Sundays while he and my four siblings attended church.
While married I found the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The missionaries came to teach us the Gospel and I learned that Jesus had come to the American Continent to preach to the American Indians. That made sense to me. Why would a loving God only be part of one continent and not the whole earth?
I have a great testimony of Joseph Smith being called to be a Prophet of God here in the United States in the year 1820. He received revelations from God and from Jesus Christ, he saw them person to person, he heard them, same as the old prophets of the New and Old testament. He was a man of God.
I have received wonderful testimonies of our Lord and I am thankful for all my blessings and those of my family.
I wish that you, the reader, will pray and read the Book of Mormon which has a beautiful promise.
How I live my faith
First I had Faith, then I repented of my sins. Then I got baptized by immersion and I was confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I received the gift of the Holy Ghost who has been with me always. It helps me to choose the right.
I attend church every Sunday. I participate during classes, I read the scriptures after I had pray for understanding of them. I live righteously so I can be worthy of partaking of the sacrament (bread and water) in remembrance of Jesus Christ sacrifice for us.
I help in any calling received. I have taught Sunday school classes for children, for adults, for women. I have worked in the nursery taking care of babies while their parents attend classes. I have taught in Spanish. I have been a librarian in our church. I am thankful for all the callings I have received. I learn more than I give. You will too, come visit us.
I attend the temple as often as I can and do proxy work for the dead. Our temples are different buildings than our Sunday buildings where we worship on the Sabbath.
I am a happy person so I am always smiling and helping others in any way I can. I do have a testimony of our living God and Jesus Christ.
I do have a testimony of our modern day Prophets and Apostles as well as the Prophets of old.
I need God by my side every day of my life, I know he lives, I know he loves me, I believe in angels, in Prophets, Apostles and in Jesus Christ the son of God.
It is such a joy to see my eldest grandson being a missionary in his youth. He took a leave of absence at the university to preach the word of God. He is serving for two years in a different state, away from family and friends, but he is so happy and has grown so much. His mom (my 3rd child) taught him well.
If you are interested in learning what I have learned I invite you to come to worship on Sunday with us or call our 800 number so the missionaries can come to you and explain our beliefs. I stand fast in the faith.

Joseph Smith
As is the case throughout history God has communicated to His children through prophets. God used a humble man as a prophet to restore His Church on earth who ultimately died defending His faith.
