I am a Business Administration student. I am 25 years old, and served for 4 1/2 years in the U.S. Navy before going to college.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know the Book of Mormon is true. I know that we are given life on this earth in order to prepare to meet our Heavenly Father. I know that the only way home to Him after this life is by following Christ through faith, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending meetings every week and by helping to teach classes during church meetings on Sunday. I also help the full-time missionaries teach lessons to those people who are investigating the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

No. We worship only God the Father and his son Jesus Christ. Joseph Smith was a prophet of God chosen to restore the gospel of Jesus Christ in its fullness back on the Earth. We deeply respect the man and all that he did for man kind as through him the Church of Jesus Christ and the authority which is called the Priesthood was restored to the Earth. The anciant people of Israel deeply revered and respected Moses and all that he did for them, but did not worship him. Joseph was a true Prophet of God and we see him as such, and we only worship the Father and the Son. Joseph was a servant of God and taught about how we should only worship God and Jesus Christ. The purpose of a Prophet is to point us to Christ and help us to know his will, and in these times as terrible as they are, we need the guidance of Prophets to help keep us on the path that God has put before us. Short answer, no. Although his role was most crucial in the restoration of the Gospel, Joseph Smith didn't create the Church, Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ RESTORED it THROUGH him. Show more Show less

Mormon women are not looked upon as less important or essential than Mormon men. It is essential that both men and women are unified in purpose and righteousness to carry forth the Lord's work. Women have the sacred responsibility to nurture their children. This isn't to say that women cannot pursue education or a career. We as Mormon women must simply understand how vital our roles are as mothers and wives. Husbands and wives must work together to provide for each other and the needs of their children.
