i grew up in utah, i'm an artist, i play soccer and tennis, i'm currently serving a mission in kentucky. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

my name is justin, i am currently serving a mission for the church if Jesus Christ of latter day saints. i played soccer and tennis in high school, and my other hobbies include, drawing, painting, sculpting, listening to nearly all music ;) watching movies, hanging out, legos, star gazing, star trek, star wars. i'm absolutely a mormon!

Why I am a Mormon

i grew up in a classic LDS family, mom, dad, a older sister, and a younger brother. but i never really knew for myself that the LDS church was true until about my jr. year in high school. it was here that i, thanks to some good friends and alot of encouragment, read the Book of Mormon for the first time on my own. i had grown up hearing that it was true my whole life but i didn't really know firsthand for myself. so i decided to take that leap of faith and ask God (James 1:5, Moroni 10:3-5) if it indeed was true and if the church really was all it claimed to be. the first time i asked i felt like i did not recieve an answer. but, after some encouragement from my friends i decided to ask again. the answer i recieved was not at all the "pillar of fire" or vision i was expecting, but it was a feeling of overwhelming peace and comfort and the thought kept coming to my mind, "why question what you already know". i know without a shadow of a doubt that that answer was from God. The Book of Mormon is true, i know it with all my heart, and this means without question that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints IS the one and only true church on the earth.

How I live my faith

1 timothy 4:12. i strive to be "an example of the believers" by heeding and obeying the council given by both ancient and modern day prophets. i know from personal experience that doing so will bless ones life by helpiing them come closer to Christ and find true peace of mind, and happiness. i have served in numerous callings in the church throughout my life, but i think my favorite ones include teaching people.

Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

because people are naturally afraid of what they do not know or understand. you can't believe everything you hear, i would encourage you to seek out two of our full time missionaries. these young men are the official representatives of the church and would love to answer your questions.

Mormon's are viewed as a cult by some because we do not adhere to the fundamental creeds established by the other Christian churches, such as the Nicene or Athanasian Creeds, and their view of the Godhead. Latter-day Saints are viewed by other Christians just like the early Christians were viewed by the Jews and Romans of the time, which was as a cult, because they strayed from what seemed to them orthodox Judaism. Much like the Pharisees and Sadducees, who viewed orthodoxy through the lens of the rules laid out in the rabbinical law and their interpretation of the Law of Moses, the Christians of today view orthodoxy through the lens of the creeds that were established hundreds of years after the death of Christ under the opinion and counsels of men.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

We believe that men and women are equal in importance, but different in responsibilities and roles. We are two parts of a whole. Women can bear and raise children, men provide and protect. This may seem old-fashioned, but it works! My husband is the President of a company, and I tell him that he is the President at work, and I am the President of my own little corporation at home. I support him in his challenging job, and he supports me in mine. I do believe that "the hand that rocks the cradle rules the world"! I am caring for, teaching and nurturing children who will go out in the world and fulfill their own great destinies. I feel a huge responsibility to prepare them for what they will face in the future and to make sure that they have the ability/tools to handle whatever challenges life brings them. I have the greatest and most challenging job in the world!
