David: Mormon.

Hi, I'm David

I grew up in Alberta and British Columbia, Canada. I love to help people, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am both a husband and a father. I loved helping others and do so professionally. In my personal life, i enjoy hiking, gardening and generally being outdoors. As a family, we love the water: local lakes, the creek near our home, and the sea. There is something truly exhilirating and humbling sitting next to the open ocean, watching the waves wash upon the sand, erasing foot prints, bringing in seaweed, shells and untold treasures, both great and small.

Why I am a Mormon

Life is full of distractions. I choose to be a Mormon because the Church and God's teachings help keep me focused amongst the ever-growing tide of distractions. The teachings are logical, simple yet elegant, providing guidance for both one's spritual life and the physical demands we all face - no aspect of life is neglected. The teachings can be challenging to live at times, but nothing worth having comes without effort. The gift of the Holy Ghost, which follows baptism, is an invaluable spiritual companion.

What I like most about being a "Mormon" is that (a) we are taught to find out truth for ourselves by asking God, not just to take another's word for things and (b) we are taught that Christ's sacrifice for us can be applicable to anyone at anytime, and that we can become a better person today, not just in the afterlife.

How I live my faith

I love going to church, although being on time can be a struggle. Helping with local food banks, picking up litter in the community, and teaching other members of our local congregation are some of the ways I find to serve God.
