Dana & Ty: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Dana & Ty

We are a Mormon Family

About Me

I am a mother of two beautiful children who I adore, and am grateful the Lord has entrusted me to teach and learn from while here on this Earth. I am a wife of an amazing husband who is a constant reminder of how much the Lord loves me. I know He had a hand in our paths crossing.

My husband, Ty, and I strive each day to live our lives as examples of Christ....are we perfect in that? No, but we are so grateful for the gift of God's Son and our Brother, Jesus for the sacrifice that was made so that we can be forgiven of our sins.

We love life, we cherish memories with our family, and we rely on the Lord to help us be the best we can be in every aspect of our lives. With two small children, a family business, and Ty's endeavors of becoming a pilot, we lead busy lives. With all the activities that go on in and outside of our home, we know all the successes we have are from but one source, and that is from our loving Father in Heaven. He is the source of all that is good in our lives. As we strive to keep our home and lives Christ Centered is what helps us remain grounded in our busy and active lives.

Why I am a Mormon

As a Mormon & a Christian (because, they are synonymous) there are times you wonder, "What am I doing here?" "What is my role?" I know I am a mother, a wife, but above all, I know I am a daughter of God. Above anything, I know this.
The Gospel of Jesus Christ provides the knowledge of a life of purpose, a life that is full of love, understanding, joy & peace. I am not going to say that life is perfect always. I don't expect it to be, nor would I choose for it to be. It is in our darkest hours we often see the brightest light, & that light, I believe is the love of our Father in Heaven. I know He is aware of our sorrows, our trials, as well as the growth we experience as we go thru the difficult times.

I choose to believe in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, because I cannot deny the peace that has come to me as I have prayed to know that it is true, that God restored His Church to us in this Modern time. I have family members who are of other faiths; I love them, & I enjoy sharing our beliefs. I believe that we often times share many of the same beliefs, but I also know there is further knowledge that I have thru the gospel of Jesus Christ as is it taught in the Mormon faith.

I pray each day that I may see people thru the eyes of Christ, that I may speak Christ-like words, & that I my ears may be tuned into things of a Spiritual nature. All which are teachings of my faith, & with all the love, joy, & blessings I have in my life, I certainly feel the Lord is leading me. I have received a knowledge of the truthfulness of this gospel thru prayer, scripture study & in the end thru the Holy Ghost, as is states so simple in the Bible: But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. John 14:26

Personal Stories

What has helped develop greater harmony in your home?

We have two small children, I have my own business, and my husband works for our family business as well. Between Church, ball games, dance classes and social outings with friends, time gets limited. It is our goal to have family prayer and to have family dinner each evening in our home. Our children know this is time that we share the activities of our days and simple enjoyment of one other. Each evening we take the time to have family prayer and at that time thank our Father in Heaven for the blessing we have obtained thru the day.

These two simple things help us keep our focus on one another, as well as to remind us of the Lord's hand in our daily lives.

How I live my faith

I strive to live my life in a manner that is pleasing to the Lord. As I member of Christ's Church, there come responsibilities and opportunities to serve our brothers and sisters within our congregation and our community.

Our youth have a daily scripture study. Each morning before school starts our youth meet in our home for "seminary." This year we are studying the Old Testament. I am grateful I am able to teach our youth, as well as to learn from them 5 days a week. Their example is such a strength to me. I cannot begin to tell you how humbling it is to have our youth in our home each morning to learn and study the words of God as we study The Bible.

My husband works with the young men in the Scouting Organization for our Congregation as well. We strive to do community service as often as possible as well as to care for the sick and needy in our community.
