Hi, I'm Alli
I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I'm a stay-at-home mom of one with one on the way...both boys! I am pursuing a four-year degree in civil engineering technology. My first two years of college I played soccer. I never thought I would stop playing the game but felt deeply that there was something more out there for me. I was raised in the church and knew the standards well. However, soccer games were sometimes scheduled for Sunday. Because of practice schedules, I could not always make it to other church activities. I was very reserved and shy so missing other activities at first did not bother me. I guess that I was in a big slump, depressed, and trying to find myself. It affected my game and confidence poorly. I began to embrace the church activities showing up late after practice. I eventually started reading the scriptures again daily, praying, asking the Lord for answers. I wanted to be happy. I eventually dropped soccer so that I was guarenteed to attend church every Sunday. I was happier. I made friends. I was more outgoing. I was confident. I found who I was by knowing my Heavenly Father more intimately. When family turned their backs on me, I remembered that I had my Heavenly Father who loved me. This helped me succeed in life with everything I did...school, family, work, etc. I obtained a Bachelors in Information Technology and later married my eternal companion. It's not easy being a mother but I love my boys and my faith keeps me going. I'm playing soccer again...we are one happy eternal league.
Why I am a Mormon
I chose to be a mormon because it makes me happy. There isn't one big event that made me this way. I just know that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true. I know that I have a loving Father in heaven who knows what I need and when I need it. He is always willing to help and guide me. As I have taken time to know Him better and live a righteous life, I am happier.

How has your knowledge of the Plan of Happiness changed/benefited your life?
Without the Plan of Happiness, there is no purpose to my life. Because I am not perfect and make mistakes, I can not reach my full potential. Once I sin, I would be stained eternal. It would always be there but with the Plan of Happiness we have been given a Saviour. Through Him, we can be forgiven and our sins washed clean. We can become pure again. We can continue our progression. We don't need to feel guilty all of the time, wallowing in our sins. We can repent and become better people. We can change. We can be happy again. What a wonderful plan!
How I live my faith
At times I can be very assertive and at others more withdrawn. I suppose that I am more subtle about how I live my faith. I live it by example. Not everyone is aware that I am a Mormon but they will see that I care. I develop friendships, I participare in a Mom's Club, I get to know my neighbors, and in general try to help those in need. I vote. I lead. I try to do things that will make a difference. I am not perfect but I strive for it. I try everyday to be a better person.
