I'm 19, I love watching movies, playing video games especially a good match on Halo :D, listen to my jams, I'm number 8 of 9 kids, I play the violin, ukulele, I try to play the piano, and I love making new friends!! Right now I'm in Mississippi! Growing up in Utah in a wonderful family has blessed me tremendously and I'm so grateful for the examples that my parents set for me. Being away from my family has been a little challenging at times but when I remember all the good times of home I always remember the wonderful hours I spent with ALL of my extended family! I think those memories and the hopes of having a loving family in the future are what bring me peace and help me to remember that I need to work hard and move on in life so that I can increase my happiness that I have now. I'm so happy to be part of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because families are a central focus in the purpose of life.
I'm a Mormon because, let's be honest, I was raised Mormon BUT I knew that at some point in time I needed to gain my very own testimony of Jesus Christ, and the Book of Mormon. Now that I do have one I now know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is that same true church that Jesus Christ set up when He walked the earth and that it is again restored to the earth today! Now I'm glad I'm Mormon! :D
It's because we believe in a sacred ordinance called baptisms for the dead that is done within the holy temples of the Lord. We strive to find out about our ancestors so that we can do this great work for them and hopefully one day see them again in the Kingdom of God. If it brings great joy to us, which it does, just imagine how much joy it'll bring to them on the other side.
It's funny I had to be baptized again, all on the same day of course, because one of my big toes on my feet stood up out of the water the first time! My whole body wasn't immersed the first time, and it's important that our bodies are fully immersed in the water because Christ set the standard and it is a commandment that we all follow. I felt so clean and invigorated after my baptism, I truly knew that Heavenly Father was happy for what I did and now I'M so happy for making one of the best decisions of my life!
The great commandment of loving one another has influenced my life more than anything else. I've seen the destruction that results from gossipping within my own life and the life of others. Yes, I am so guilty of it, and now that I think about all the gossip I've done throughout my life it hurts me! I've prayed and prayed to be filled with the love of God and throughout experience and time I've finally gained that. I think about all the bad things people have said about me or done to me in the past and I've learned to finally let it go because of the love that I have for them and the Savior! It has become so much easier to love people, and once we love all men nothing else really matters! :D
Gathering together as a family, and/or with friends, and participating in fun and spiritual things and thinking together on how we can help one another with love and service has brought a sense of peace that I probably can't find anyhwere else. This is what has helped my home be a place of harmony engulfed in the spirit of Christ. :D
Well there are many ways how I live my faith! Everyday I read my scriptures because I feel happy when I do and I can't live without doing THAT. It's like breathing without AIR! I absolutely NEED to pray to my Father in Heaven everyday. During my prayers I can know what Heavenly Father wants me to do if I pay close attention and take some time to listen through the spirit. I attend church every sunday because there are others who are striving their best to live the gospel and I can relate to and learn from them! So in other words, I pray, read my scriptures, and go to church! Though living my faith may be as simple as that it brings MAJOR results to my happiness! :D
