I grew up in washington state. I am a computer Guru. I am currently serving a mission. and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have worked as a computer tech before my mission. I like fiddling with computers. I built my own computer a year ago but have been repairing and fixing them for years. I play games like Starcraft 2, and League of Legends. When I get home from my mission I am planning on going to college and going into ether computer programing or something along those lines.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up LDS but my family was never realy active. We rarely went to church when i was growing up. it wasn't until my later teen years when i started to get realy active in church. I had no encuragement from my family about church but I knew it was important to go to church so I had to take myself to church every week and started taking my younger brother and sister with me. The gospel has helped me become a better person and has brought me closer to my Heavenly Father and Jesus christ than ever before. I have come to love them and and want to do what is right because of that love.

Please explain the part prayer plays in your life?

I say many prayer's daily. In my prayers I talk to my Father in heaven like a friend. I know that if I ever have a problem that I can come to him and he will comfort me. He will give me direction when i need it. But god doesn't always work directly through you, I have had a lot of my answers come from other people I talk to. But I know that the words which they spoke to me were from my Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as an LDS Missionary in the Anchorage Alaska Mission. But Before I came out on my mission I tought the 7 and 8 year olds in my ward. I live my faith by Living the teachings of the gospel and by sharing it with others.

How is the Book of Mormon different from the Bible? How did Joseph Smith obtain the “golden plates” or Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon does not differ from the Bible in the gospel. God gave the same gospel to the Nephites in America as he did to the Isrealites in the Middle East. But the difference is in who the people were, and also in how we obtained the reccords in this day and age. The Nephites were a group of people from Jeruselum who left to go to the America's. and just like the bible it talks about the prophets who lead these people who were over here. and also talks about christ comming to the Nephites and establishing his chruch with them as well.

The Bible was translated into english through Bible Schollars. and had to rely on their own understanding of the language and the gospel. The Book of mormon, however, was preserved from the time of christ until it was given to Joseph Smith in the early 1800's. when the angel Moroni who preserved the Golden Plates(the Book of Mormon), lead Joseph Smith to them. And after that Joseph Smith didn't translate them on his own but had the help from god to translate them corectly.

Are there restrictions based on race or color concerning who can join The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and have the priesthood?

No! In fact, the choir I sing with, Saints Unified Voices, is a great example of this. We represent many races and colors--African American, Polynesian, Persian, Native American, Caucasian, plus a few others and we are directed by a wonderful African American woman you may have heard of by the name of Gladys Knight Mcdowell. All of us are faithful members of the church who come together to sing praises to our Father and Heaven and His Son, Jesus Christ. One of the messages we bring to the world through song and through example is that there are no race or color restrictions as to who can join The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. There are also no race or color restrictions as to who can hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The gospel of Jesus Christ is for everyone. In the Book of Mormon we read that the Lord 'inviteth them all to come unto him and partake of his goodness; and he denieth none that come unto him, black and white, bond and free, male and female; and he remembereth the heathen; and all are alike unto God' (2 Nephi 26:33). We, as members of His church from every nation, kindred, tongue, and people, sing glory to God!
