About Me

Hello I am a married mother of four. I joined the church when I was 29 and I am 32 now, I believe I was called to the church my whole life but finally joined a few years ago. Because of my ethnic background I am still in the closet about my faith and this is my first attempt at putting it out there that I am MORMON!!!! lol that felt great! I am also a recently made stay at home mom, which is hard getting used to when I used to work work work, now I just work work work work and more work all at home lol. Since I have joined the church my family has had many many blessings and I have become a much better wife and mother too.

Anyway thats me trying to crawl out of the closet:)

Why I am a Mormon

It all started when I was about 10 years old and I had a friend who was a member and I would beg her to watch her Jesus movies because they were just so good. When my mom found out I watched them I was never allowed to see her anymore, she told me Mormons kill there babies and various other crazy stuff but I knew my friends family so I knew better.

At the age of 21 I had my first daughter and her father's brother family was Mormon and they were awsome, super funny, caring and just generally good people, I still love them. I never went to church with them but I did inquire alot about the faith.

Later I found out my boss was a member too and he too was great, best boss I ever had and through that job I met my husband who is not a member but supports me and really likes the church (cant give up beer during football yet).

After I we moved my daughter would go to her uncles for the summers to see her father and there she would attend primary with their family. Soon my ex was converted and called to tell me that he thought I should check it out so at least my daughter could go when she came home. I agreed and got online looking for churches not very well though and then just let it go. The next day, (seriously this was so weird) 2 missionaries show up at my house!

So I let them in after telling them I was just talking about them the day before! They ended up coming over for like months I wasnt easy lol. Eventually I think after what seemed like 6 months I finally got baptized and its been great ever since :)

How I live my faith

I live my faith by reading my scriptures and going to church I know that sounds super boring but I'm not as involved as I would like to be since I'm in the closet I do attend meetings and fun gatherings too. I wish so much to be able to do more and just say to my family but its really hard. Especially when I have a birthday party and I really want to invite my sisters and their kids but I cant :( I'm having a really hard time keeping this all secret...

What is being a Mormon like?

Being a Mormon to be is by far the BEST way to live. I have never felt so much peace in my life from knowing and having that knowledge that I am a literal Daughter of my Heavenly Father who loves me. I love knowing that I have a plan and a reason for being placed on this earth. I have a purpose and a Heavenly Father who wants nothing but the best for me!Being a Mormon makes me want to shout for joy! Having the restored gospel in my life and knowing that the TRUE church is once again on this earth brings me so much happiness. Being a member of the Church of Latter Day Saints brings me so much joy, and makes me want to share this truth and knowledge with everyone that I know. In fact, that is the VERY reason why I am serving a Mission. Also knowing that I can be with my family for Eternity, now there is no greater joy than that. I love being Mormon. I can not think of ANY way better to live

Being a Mormon is like being yourself but you will find more happiness through the gospel of Jesus Christ so you will a better yourself you won’t want to do the things you know are wrong. People will know that you are following Christ and they will respect you for that even if they tease you about it at first. You don’t have to change your personality but you will change the way you look at life and find more respect and love for Christ and what He did for you and for me.

Why do Mormons perform proxy baptisms in their temples?

We have a loving Father in Heaven, whose work and glory are to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man. He is our Father, and wants each and every one of us to return to him. Some of His children never had the opportunity to receive the blessings of the gospel and be baptized in their lifetime. Because our Father loves all of His children, each will have the opportunity to accept the gospel, even if it is taught to them after this life. We do baptisms in the temple by proxy so that those who did not have the opportunity in this life to be baptized into the church may receive this ordinance if they desire it.
