I was going to college to study Social Work. I have chosen Social Work because I want to help other people in different aspects of their lives. I try to incorporate my future career with the scriptures and I enjoy finding new ways to help people and make them feel loved. I have chosen to take time off from college to serve a full time mission in the Utah Provo mission from March 2013 to September 2014.
I am a part of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I know the church is true. I have asked Heavenly Father many times and every time it has been confirmed to me that this is His true church. I haven't always had the easiest life. I have bounced around to different churches searching for a feeling of love, care, and truth. I have never felt love like I have in this church. Every time I read my scriptures I am reminded of His love for us and the truth He has shown us. I was brought to the church by a friend of mine and was baptized 4 months later on August 1, 2010. I love my Heavenly Father and I love His church.
The Book of Mormon has been an amazing source of inspiration to me. Upon becoming a member of the Church, I started to read little bits of the Book of Mormon. It wasn't until after being a member for a year that I really started to read the Book of Mormon diligently. Through reading it, I have found myself getting and feeling closer to God. There is an unexplainable feeling of peace and comfort that I get from reading the Book of Mormon. I have taken Moroni's challenge and I have asked of God if this book is true and I can tell you and testify to you that the Book of Mormon is 100% true! There have been times that I have been discouraged or in need of answers and after I have prayed sincerely to God, He has shown me His answer through the scriptures, especially in the Book of Mormon. I have never read the Book of Mormon without feeling the Spirit and I know that it has brought me closer to God. I have learned to listen, pray, follow the commandments, and be patient. The Book of Mormon is an amazing book and I encourage anybody with doubts, trials, broken and joyful hearts alike to read the Book of Mormon.
I live my faith by indulging in the scriptures and putting them to work. When I lived on a college campus I strived to be an example for my non-member friends and peers. As a pioneer in my family, I am a walking example for them and I hope that I have let God shine through me. In my walk, I have recently decided to serve a mission for the church. I am serving in the Utah Provo Mission until 2014. I pray LOTS and read frequently. I try to actively be a part of my ward and in my mission!
