Katie Neubaum: Katie Neubaum Mormon, Neubaum Family, Eternal Life, Heavenly Father, Gifts and Talents, Blessings, Mormon.

Hi, I'm Katie Neubaum

I'm a Mormon. I was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I know that the church is true.

About Me

I am a mother of 3 beautiful children. I am happily married to a Captain in the Army National Guard. I also served in the Military Intelligence Corps for a few years, but now I am singing with a big band and teaching voice and piano lessons. I am also rehearsing with my brother and preparing to perform at weddings this coming season. I enjoy running, biking and playing basketball with my children. I also enjoy reading the scriptures on my own and with my family. I find that when I read the scriptures I have much more peace and happiness on a daily basis. There is absolutely nothing that works as well.
I am a classically trained singer. I got my bachelors degree from the University of Miami in Vocal Performance. I continued my education at the University of South Carolina in Music Education. I did not quite finish my degree due to a surprise pregnancy at the beginning of my second year. I may finish it later, but I am content with my musical experience and enjoy using my talents to entertain and inspire others.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because my parents raised me in the church. We went to church every Sunday and we attended all of the many activities designed for the youth of the church. I used to lean on the testimonies of my Mother and father, but as I grew older and gained a testimony of my own, I realized how very important the gospel of Jesus Christ was to me.
I have attended other churches and I have had friends of many different faiths. I do believe that other churches have truth, and that they are teaching Gods words, but I have never experienced the overwhelming spirit of truth and understanding the way that I do in the Mormon church. I respect other religions, but I will always seek to teach those of other faiths the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ that has been taught to me. If every one could have a testimony of the miracle of having a living prophet today, the world would be a much better place. One of the best things about being a Mormon is that we have a prophet today, just like the prophets of old, that converses wiith the Lord. Our prophet speaks to us and blesses us with the words of our Savior and Heavenly Father.

Personal Stories

How has attending Church services helped you?

Without church on Sundays my week is never as good. The spiritual fulfillment that I get strengthens and uplifts me. I always hear something that seems to have been meant just for me. I think that it may be easy for some people to rationalize the sabbath day as just another weekend day, but for me it is definitely the Lords day. It is a day for worship, rest and family time. We use Sundays to search the scriptures, rest and reflect on our week and make goals for a great week ahead. Church service helps to begin the sabbath day as a holy, special day.

How can your talents and gifts bless others?

I have been singing and playing the piano my whole life. I believe that these are talents given to me by my Heavenly Father. I find my greatest joy in performing for others. I know that through music I can inspire others to seek after their talents. There is something very special about singing church related music and spiritual songs. The spirit of the Lord is so easily felt through music. I am so grateful for my ability to sing and be a witness of spiritual matters through music.

How I live my faith

I am by no means better than any one else, nor do I claim to be more righteous. I believe that I live my faith by being honest in all of my dealings with others. I strive to start and end each day and meal with a prayer. Actually, I pray several times a day when I feel like I need help with something or I am struggling to find peace. I try to be Christ like as I serve my friends and family that are in need. I try to pay an honest tithing, which is 10% of my income. I try to honor the promises that I made to my husband when we were sealed for time and all eternity. I try to teach the gospel of Jesus Christ to my children as well as those in my life. I attend church on Sundays and partake of the sacrament to renew my baptismal covenants each week. I serve as the relief society accompanist and I try to do my best to learn the songs each week. This is a volunteer position that in most church organizations would be a paid position. All of the teachers and presidency of the church are volunteer positions and called of God to serve. It is an honor and a blessing to have a calling and to serve voluntarily. I strive to keep the word of wisdom by not partaking of alcoholic beverages and coffee and tea and tobacco. This keeps my mind, body and spirit clean and clear. I do not see R rated movies or seek after other unholy material. I try to view and listen to good and uplifting literature and music. I work hard to keep my house and yard Beautiful and clean as to invite the spirit and to keep our family organized and happy. I believe that a happy home brings peace to our lives. I want to be a better person and most of all I want our family to be together forever and return to live with our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ in the Celestial Kingdom. I don't want to settle for second best or lose my way in the world. I know that I have a divine purpose here on this earth and that I am a daughter of my Heavenly Father.
