Hi, I'm Matthew Huss
I'm a Mormon. I've lived in Louisville since 2004. My wife and I have 3 sons.
About Me
My interests and hobbies lie in music and reading. I love to play guitar and have been for the past 15 years. My favorite authors are John Steinbeck and Dostoevsky. I earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Phoenix campus here in Louisville and am currently working on my MBA from Strayer University. I am a father of 3 and work for WW Grainger.
Why I am a Mormon
I have been a member of the Church since I was 8 years old. My parents received the missionary lessons and were baptized. They encouraged me to learn as well, which led to my baptism soon thereafter. As a young man, I gained a personal testimony of the Book of Mormon and of the calling of Joseph Smith as a prophet. This testimony led me to serve a 2 year mission in Venezuela, where I gained more spiritual experiences that have strengthened me greatly. I continue to dedicate myself to serving the Lord in whatever way I can. I know that the Church is led by the Lord and that He is the Son of God. I serve Him because I love Him.
Personal Stories
How can we develop greater harmony in our homes?
Greater harmony comes from striving each day to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ and serving in His church. We try to make Christ the center and focal point of our lives and worship Him as often as we are able.
How I live my faith
I am a Sunday School teacher for the 12-13 year old class. This calling has been the source of many great spiritual experiences. I also participate in the hometeaching program, which gives members the responsibility to visit and serve other families in our ward. Serving in the Church helps me to show the Lord that I have faith in Him.
