Why I am a Mormon

Theres just that peace and comfort that this gospel has for me. I feel happy that eventhough theres like a billion people in the world and though I'm only 5"2 that Heavenly Father sees me and He knows me really well. I know that I am important to Him. I just love the feeling of being loved by Him.

How has the Book of Mormon brought you closer to God?

Im not much of a reader. In fact the Book of Mormon and the Bible are the only books ive read. Well, i read a couple childrens book with pictures but they dont count. Ive felt my relationship with my Savior grew and that I felt His hand in my day-to-day life. I am still reading the Book of Mormon eventhough ive finished it coz i think by reading it gives me great peace and joy. Ive found lots of questions answered in reading the Book of Mormon. In reading the Book of Mormon i saw an image of myself of what my Father in Heaven views me. The image gets clearer and clearer as i read the Book of Mormon.

How I live my faith

I like showing everyone that there is someone that do care. If its me being that instrument to let them know that, I'll take and will take that opportunity. Service is my way of showing my love for my Savior, Jesus Christ.

What are Mormon Temples used for?

To a Mormon, a temple is one of the most sacred places one can go on earth. We believe the temple is God's house and that we are able to go there and receive instruction that He would want us to learn. A lot of people use the temple as a refuge from daily life. It is a place where we can go and be in a Heaven-like setting for awhile. In the temple families are united together forever. The temple is a place where we can go and receive special gifts from God. We also believe the temple is a place where we can assist our departed ancestors with eternal exaltation. The temple is sacred and not secret. Show more Show less

Russell M. Nelson said "teachings of the Temple are beautifully simple, and simply beautiful." As one who has set foot in those Holy Houses, I can say that is true. I sure love going to the Temple- it brings me so close to my family. Everything about the Temple and what is taught in there is centered around families benefitting the most from the life and mission of Jesus Christ, our Saviour. Experiences in the Temple are often too sacred to discuss outside of the House of the Lord, so members often will say how wonderful their time was when they were there, but they will spare you the details because it's not SECRET, it's SACRED. The best way for anyone to learn is through experience- the Saviour understood this well. He didn't say "look where I'm going," He said, "come, follow me." And as I go to the Temple, and come unto Him, I invite you not just to see me go to the Temple, I invite you to prepare well and come with me. Only members of the Church who have accepted baptism and lived true to that commitment are ready for such a spiritual experience, but it's well worth the preparation! Show more Show less
