I am married and have two beautiful daughters. I am a pediatrician in private practice and do both clinic and hospital work where I help run a level II NICU. I enjoy traveling with my family and love reading and studing about other cultures. I love being active in the outdoors and my favorite outdoor activity is to go trail running
The principle teaching of the Church is that families can be together forever and live with our Savior Jesus Christ. The whole basis for everything that we do here on earth is so that we can have an eternal family. I am a Mormon, because the greatest thing I have in my life is my wife and children and through living a righteous life and following the principles taught in the gospel, I can ensure that I can be with my family in the next life, not just until death do we part.
Because of my abilities as a pediatrician and an instructor in neonatal resuscitation I have been able to give of my time and am able to help teach other doctors and nurses how to use these same principles to save the lives of newborn babies that are in distress. The church also donates equipment to all the hospitals to use to help save the lives of babies. I had a doctor in Brazil who works in a very rural, poor area tell me after attending one of the courses put on by the church, that the week before the course they had a baby born at their clinic that was not breathing and they had no way of helping the baby and they watched as the baby died. However, now after attending the course and receiving the medical equipement given to them by the Mormon church, they will never again have to sit by and watch a baby die without being able to step in and help. By using my talents I am being able to help save the lives of babies all over the world
My wife and I have been asked to be humanitarian missionaries. We travel to Brazil and Africa and help teach neonatal resuscitation to doctors and nurses. We donate our time and we have to leave our children at home as we travel to many diverse places to help them learn to take care of babies with breathing problems at birth. We are gone for 10 days at a time, even though it is a great sacrifice on our family. It has been so rewarding to know that we are helping to save lives.
