Chat With a Mormon Online
I grew up in a suburb of Paris, France not far from the famous Versailles palace! As a young adult, I went to the U.S. for university studies and came home with an American wife! We lived in the U.S. for six years and have been in France for five with our three young children. We enjoy spending time together as a family, whether watching movies or taking a walk in the forest.
Growing up I attended church with my parents and siblings because it is what was expected of me. When I became a young adult and was free to make my own choices, I felt a desire to serve a mission for the Mormon Church because I felt it was the right thing to do. I was assigned to serve in Scotland and quickly discovered that the mission was challenging. I knew that I needed to have my own personal conviction of the gospel I was sharing with others. I began to study the Book of Mormon and the Bible and to earnestly pray, but my answer did not come immediately. Several months after beginning to daily study and ask God for an answer, I unexpectedly received a powerful spiritual feeling that let me know that the Book of Mormon is indeed true. This spiritual experience gave me the personal conviction to share the gospel message. Throughout my two years of service I saw the happiness that the gospel brought to the lives of those I taught. And although very challenging at times, when I think back to my mission in Scotland, I think of those two years as some of the happiest in my life. This experience has also given me strength in my personal and family life.
I believe that family is sacred and so the number one way I live my faith is by being a good husband and father. However, I also have opportunities to serve in our local congregation in Versailles. I visit with family members to offer them spiritual and temporal support and I am the leader of a small group of men and have responsibilities for organizing Sunday lessons and service activities.
