About Me
My name is Houston Brooks and im a Mormon! About me? Well, im pretty much an open book.I am a happy person, always laughing and smiling. I try to always be positive in every way, always looking on the bright side of life. I love to be with people I love. This includes both my family and my friends, which are both cruicial parts of my life! I have several hobbies! First I love photography, that is a true passion of mine. I love to capture the beauty all around me. It brings a sense of peace and enjoyment into my life. Also it captures a beauty in common, everyday life, that some people overlook. Highlighting those little wonders in life. I also love capturing those special moments, as memories are everything! Our knowledge and memories are some of the few things we take with us when we depart from this life and continue on to the next. Having those moments to hold and cherish forever is something special, and a gift I love to be able to provide to others. Another huge hobby of mine is learning, particularly about the things I love! Heavenly Father has given us a beautiful earth here and we ought to really be thankful for it! I particularly love aquatic life! Our beautiful reef systems, the amazing Amazon river, I am so intruiged by it all. I want to devote my life to learning more about it, and sharing that learned knowledge with others. Lastly I love to read! One of the best books to read is the Book of Mormon! But I greatly enjoy many other books as well!

About Me
I was raised in a farming family, and learned to really enjoy physical work. I thought I'd always want to live on a farm, but there were forces in my life that began very early to broaden my interests beyond what was common for the farmers that I knew as a boy. I got interested in science, and I succeeded well in mathematics. Electricity, particularly, fascinated me. By the time I was in high I was licensed to operate an amateur radio, and I was convinced that I would not be happy as a farmer. I knew I wanted to go to college. I started in a science curriculumn at the university, and during my second year I tagged along to a seminar for potential teachers. At the end, they had someone interview each of the attendees, and when I described myself, the interviewer made a very dispariging remark about my potential to be a teacher. "Such a scientist isn't human enough to be a teacher." That statement really caused me to think. I recognized that I had real problems dealing with people, and I recognized that it was my problem not theirs. That's when the general curriculumn at the university began to become very important to me. I wanted to human. I became a professional teacher, and I taught school until I lost the ability to hear the students. When hearing aids weren't enough for me to continue in the classroom, I got work developing technical training materials, especially training for delivery on computers. I've used computers in training since the first IBM PC.

About Me
I keep myself pretty busy. Probably too busy. I own a small marketing company. Some of our services include graphic design (logo design, brand/identity development, etc.) and website design. We also offer face-to-face promotions for our clients. These services are most common for the restaurants we work with. I am a musician. I play trumpet, trombone, piano, and play-with the guitar. I have been in several bands over the last 15 years. The music my bands play is called Ska. The music originated in Jamaica. I also write Christian/religious music (hymns and uplifting music). I have been married to my beautiful, wonderful wife for 10 years. We met in high school and have been "dating" since then. At this point, we have one 12 lb son named Titan - a long-hair Chihuahua. My wife and I center our life around the gospel of Jesus Christ. We are active members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We love the Savior and we are grateful for His life and example. I know that it is only through Jesus Christ that we can be saved and forgiven of our sins and short-comings. I know that there is a God and that He is my literal Father. I know that He has a plan for us. I know that He loves all of His children. I am so very thankful for this knowledge. My testimony and knowledge of these things has truly blessed my life in so many ways. The Holy Spirit has borne witness to me that the Holy Bible and The Book of Mormon are true scripture. I know that the Bible is true. I know that The Book of Mormon is true ancient scripture - a history of a civilization which inhabited a portion of the ancient Americas. The Holy Ghost has testified to me of these truths. I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the Lord's Church on the earth in these last days. I know that God lives and that Jesus Christ is His literal Son. I know that it is through the atonement of Jesus Christ that I can be forgiven of my sins. Knowing these truths with a surety is an incredible blessing in my life and a blessing to my family.

About Me
My wife and I have been married for over 27 years, with four wonderful children. My parents joined the Church when I was young, and raised me with a deep love for the Savior. I served as a missionary in the Florida Tallahassee Mission, and our two oldest sons have likewise served missions Philippines Angeles City Mission, Peru Piura Mission, with another preparing to serve next year. We have been very blessed over the years through a longstanding family commitment to scripture reading, prayer, Church activity and service to our neighbors. I am grateful for counsel given by Nephi to parents of our day: "And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our cchildren may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins." 2 Nephi 25:26. I am especially grateful for parents who taught me to follow Christ, that I might pass that great legacy of faith onto our children.

About Me
I have various nicknames but I went with Big Ben here because I'm a big guy. Most people don't believe me if I tell them I weigh more than 300 pounds, although for now it is true. I'm an open major sophmore and trying to figure out what I'm going to do with my life. My favorite color is orange. I love to dance! I love playing volleyball because it doesn't require a lot of running. In addition to listening to my favorite rock bands I enjoy listening to music ranging from choral to hip hop. I am learning to play the banjo and the piano but I wouldn't say to put me on stage. I have a goal to write a song for a girl one day. I have one of the best jobs in the world. I'm a lifeguard and have cool tan lines.

-
About Me
While growing up I moved around a bit, so, I've seen a bit of the Western and Mid-Western USA. Illinois is the farthest east I've lived, and Alaska's the farthest west. So, I've seen a bit of the country. And moved around quite a bit. And while moving around lived in some remote, and beautiful regions of this country. I apologize if this is hard to read, but, I'm not that good at writing. But, I decided to give this a try, and hopefully you'll find something in here that's useful. Hopefully the Spirit will be able to touch you through my words.
