Hi, I'm Jared. I've loved to learn all my life, and so, no surprise, I became a teacher! Although endorsed as a language arts teacher (I love the art of words and the power of writing throughout the ages), I also love astronomy, history, biology, anatomy, visual arts, and social arts and culture. My wife and I found each other via online dating (yes, it can work!), and have one beautiful child. For hobbies, I enjoy hiking, creative writing, analytical writing, designing solar systems, and designing "alien" societies. I also love video games, where I can experience virtual realities or simulations (which works well when you like to write sci fi or fantasy).

I don't watch PG-13 (or higher) rated movies, I don't cuss or swear, I don't drink caffeine, and I don't drink soda. I'm a Mormon.

I'm a Latter-Day Saint (LDS) a.k.a. Mormon. I am the 5th of 10 children. I attend Indiana Academy. I have a lot of self-esteem but I know that I wouldn't be the person I am without God. I believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all. I am a daughter of our God. I know he loves me, and I love Him. I will try my best to stand as witness of God at all times, and in all things, and in all places. I will never lower my standards just to fit in. I know that God has given me everything I have and wish I could make it up to him somehow. I attend seminary every morning at 6am, Monday-Friday during the school year. I have completed my Personal Progress and am now working towards my Honor Bee.

My wife and I have three grown children and we are pleased to be participants in our local branch of the Church. I am a Computer Programmer, looking to go back to school and get training to match the job market. Elder Boyd K. Packer said, "The ultimate end of all activity in the Church is that a man and his wife and their children can be happy at home." I can say firsthand that I know what it's like to be a part of a happy family. In this regard, I am the luckiest wife and mother on the planet. Our children are teenagers, and yet they still open up to me about anything and everything. I treasure my husband and children more than I can say. I have numerous other blessings as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have a strong desire to share my testimony of the gospel. I do struggle with weaknesses and various different trials, specifically health issues. But it helps me to remember the good moments outweigh the bad ones. Oh how they do! The gospel of Jesus Christ enables me to have this perspective, regardless of the trials my family and I are going through. I enjoy reading mostly for secular and spiritual learning, journal writing, photography, creative writing, going to the movies isn't movie popcorn the best?!, helping others, social networking on the internet, blogging, spending time with my friends, immediate and extended family and I've been known to play a game of spider solitaire or two. If I'm listening to Michael Buble, one might catch me dancing. I very much enjoy going to the temple. I have taken numerous college classes on different campuses and online. I absolutely love learning. My husband is a private investigator. He is good at what he does and more importantly, he enjoys his job. I do not work outside the home. A great deal of my time and energy is spent towards my family and taking care of our daughter who has special needs. She has over 15 doctors. My sons have some health care issues as well. But I am grateful that my children have doctors and medication to help them. The inconvenience of doctor's appointments is a small price to pay for necessary health care. Somehow, our children rise above their trials and keep on going. They each have accomplished good things and I am proud of them, especially for the good choices they make. I am so grateful to my husband, and for the love and patience he shows to me. He is also one of the funniest people I know. I love him dearly. I am excited for this opportunity to share my beliefs about Jesus Christ. I welcome comments on my blog page.

I am a retired Software Engineer with original training in Physics. My wife Pam and I have four children, one deceased, by my first marriage. I am disabled, suffering from major headaches, a follow-on to a motorcycle accident back in 1977. I am a husband and father. I work in facilties management and deal with HVAC systems on a regular basis. I met my wife in college and we were married in the Oakland California Temple. We have five children ages 13,15,17,19 and 21. My early life was spent as a member of another faith. Although this faith was full of wonderful people there were too many unanswered questions about life. For several years I did not participate in any religious activity until I one day found The Book of Mormon at the public library. I read it over the course of two years and it has changed my life. I was a baptised a member of the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1985.

There are many reasons. Each of us has the oppertunity to personal revelation from our Heavenly Father through the power of personal prayer. I pray every day and have received a testimony of the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. This is a living Church of Jesus Christ with his chosen Prophet on the earth today Thomas Monson. This is a consistant pattern from the beginning of tim the Holy Bible that continues to this day. This is a living church. I have prayed and feel in my heart that the Church of Jesus Christ has been restored to the earth in these Latter Days from Joseph Smith to this current day and that the Priesthood of Heavenly Father has been restored in its fullness. The blessings of the Temple are for all people.

I have been married for 40 years (to the same kind, incredibly patient man). Together we have two grown children -- a son and a daughter. I am a retired computer programmer/systems designer who loves to travel, garden, write, attend the theatre, talk about my faith and spend time with my two dogs and one cat.

I have been married for 35 years and I have 4 children and 2 grand children. I have always tried to figure how things are made and how they work. I have been involved in the steel fabrication industry for 36 years. My job is to figure out how things work and design them to work better. I spend a lot of time in the AutoCAD world. This is a great computer drafting program. This is a wonderful world! All corners are square and straight. Too bad steel cannot be bought in the same form! My hobbies are working, riding my motorcycle from state to state, camping and hunting with my family. In 2006 my son and I rode two motorcycles from Arizona to Alaska and back. We traveled 8,000 miles in 24 days. It was the time of our lives. I live in the same city that my great grand parents moved to in 1879.

I'm the only member in my family. My siblings & I grew up in the beautiful and ancient city of Izmir, Turkey , located on the majestic Aegean Sea. Izmir is rich in ancient history and was formally the Greek and Roman city of Smyrna. Alexander the Great at one time conquered the castle at Smyrna. Me literally grew up playing on the Agora Roman ruins found in downtown Izmir. Picturesque Greek islands can be seen from the shores near Izmir and the beaches, hills, and villages in this area are beautiful, rich and fertile in every way.My brother Mesut's art has been highly influenced by soaking in the history and culture of the beautiful land of the Aegean sun . Some of the inspiring ancient sites that Mesut Bariscan and I often visited are Ephesus, with its wonderful amphitheater and library of Celsus, the Seven Ancient Churches, Bergama, Hierapolis, Aphrodisias, Didyma, Pamukkale, Cappadocia, Troy (city of the famous Trojan Horse), and the awe inspiring sites of Istanbul. The coastline along the Aegean is majestically beautiful lined with serene villages and thriving resort communities such as Cesme, Altinkum, Bodrum, Kusadasi and Marmaris to name just a few. I've done my family genealogy and also my clients in Turkey and surrounding areas, Greece, Bulgaria, Cypress. It is so amazing to search for the people behind the veil.

I'm a language lover, a music maker, a multicultural food devourer, a teacher of my kids and grandkids. And I'm a Mormon.

I love pulling people closer into my circle and expanding my circle to include them. I love the languages and cultures and the people of Central Asia, and I enjoy being a language administrator. Most of my co-workers are Muslim, and I love working with them as we create textbooks, multimedia materials and mobile apps for Turkic and Iranian languages. We also teach language and culture to students from academic, business, military and other governmental organizations, many of whom later travel or work in Afghanistan, Western China or various Eurasian countries. I enjoy creating music, vocal and instrumental. I also love roller coasters and stormy weather. I’ve been laid off twice. Despite trials and defeat, I have always felt a success as a parent, and as a result, I’ve felt successful in general. I love my wife. She is an organizer extraordinaire; her influence as a teacher of youth cannot be measured. We are empty nesters with six amazing adult kids, a daughter and five sons. We have a bunch of wonderful grandkids. My favorite age is the teenage years. I love having teenagers; it's when their hearts and minds kick in in full gear. Teenagerhood -- well prepared for -- is a joy. Real travel for me starts where English is not spoken and dollars are not used. I love eating international foods of all sorts and discussing them with my family. I enjoy talking to folks of all sorts; I love learning from people who aren't like me.
