Hi, I'm Jennifer Roach - People

I am a United States Marine Corps wife, a college graduate, a stay at home mom, a survivor of sexual abuse, and I am a Mormon!

About Me

I was sexually abused for the first 12 years of my life. I am who I am in spite of my abuse and because of my relationship with my Savior, Jesus Christ. I have been married for 12 years and I love my husband like crazy! He was brought into my life at the exact moment I needed him most. The first few years of our marriage were very rocky as we worked through all of my childhood deamons. I have been a Mormon my entire life but fell from activity after high school when I had a falling out with my father and got offended by a church leader. After getting pregnant with my first child I came back to church because I knew she had every right to learn about the gospel and choose to follow Christ for herself; it was not something I could do for her. I met my husband when I was 6 months pregnant. Shortly after going back to church I came face to face with my repressed childhood abuse when I found out 2 other family members experienced abuse at the hands of the same person who abused me. I struggled with thoughts of suicide, flashbacks of my abuse and feelings of guilt over what happened to the two younger victims. The teachings of the Mormon Church have helped me to move from a life as a victim to living a life of a survivor. I have developed a deeper understanding of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ which has helped me realize that there is more to life than sadness, darkness and depression.

Hi, I'm MargeeMay - People

I am a mother of three spirited children. I am an artist and I love all things vintage. I am an abuse survivor. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I currently have started a vintage shop with some friends of mine and enjoy it immensely. I have also been airbrush face painting at different events. I love being in plays and musicals. I volunteer at my children's school, teaching art and helping in the classroom. I really enjoy being active doing zumba and riding my bicycle. But I often find myself overwhelmed with too much on my plate and get stressed. Trying everyday to do my best and remember I am someone important. Growing up as a sexually abused person has been very, very hard. It effects all aspects of my life. Sorrow and pain have been constant companions for all of my life, though I do count myself very lucky to have lived the life I am living. I have been a Mormon all my life and thankfully I have loving parents, a sister and brothers, and my husband who support me. Throughout trying to overcome the effects of the abuse, my testimony of the atonement of Christ and His love for me has grown and deepened to a sure knowledge that this is true. I also know that I have a loving Father in Heaven who wants me to succeed and has placed so many people and opportunities in my life that I may do so. A life after this life here on earth awaits me full of a happiness and joy that I have never known. If I but do my best and follow the commandments I will have freedom from such sorrows and pains.

Hi, I'm Eric Bunker - People

I'm a 4th and 5th generation Mormon. I grew up and still live in Arizona.

About Me

I am a father of 5 natural children and 4 foster cilderen a grandfather to 14. I have been married in the temple twice, the first time for 10 years and the last for 28 years to a very wonderful woman. My biggest challenges in life have been my very abusive first marriage and its outflow. The second is a disabling illness most of my life which forced my wife and I to change roles. I am now on Kidney dialysis. I spend most of my time dealing with my illnesses. What remainder energy I have left I use in helping take care of my family and in serving in the church. I have been a clerk for two wards and two stakes for the last 15 years. I am now serving as a clerk for our local area authority and his executive secretary involved with prison ministries. I love religious music and when I can, I compose and arrange music along with singing in ensembles and choirs. When I feel good enough and am able, my wife and I like to take walks. I have a tender spot for those who experience abuse, especially those who are separated from their children, even adult children by the severe abuse called Parent Alienation Syndrome. So often, I see the affected ones quit coming to church. More especially the ones who perceive that local leadership is against them and believing the false assertions of a former spouse. I desire all those to come back, regardless of perceived public perceptions. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is everything.

Hi, I'm Ashley - People

I'm a poor college student. I love to write. I'm addicted to singing. My favorite shoes are converse. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest of sixteen. They're not all blood siblings, for the record: five blood, four step and six "adopted" siblings. I grew up wanting to be an English teacher and double major in Music, because I've always been passionate in choir and band...and I've always had an interest in massage therapy, but now this thought has come to me about nursing? I'm not entirely sure of what I'm going to do with my life yet. I used to do 4-H, raising sheep, with my siblings. We then moved to a bigger town, so that discontinued. (I've moved lived in three different places, but several different houses.) I did a bit of modeling, but it wasn't serious; mostly for a Bridal Shop doing prom dresses and things...so not too impressive. I am learning the ukulele and loving it! I have tried guitar but there's way too many strings for me. I'm also teaching myself piano (I can play a few hymns...that's the extent of my talent, for now.) I'm a happy person; I love to laugh and have fun with my friends. I'm shy and quiet, until you get to know me. I'm a worry-wart, a perfectionist, a crier, a lover, not a fighter and I believe in being honest. I'm understanding and try not to be nonjudgmental, but I struggle with humility and vanity; I'm nowhere near perfect, but I'm forever striving. When I was younger I was set on going on a mission, but now there's this handsome fella...so who knows what will happen. All I know is that I'm serving a mission sooner or later!

I love life now. I'm married to my best friend, and we have such a great time together. My husband even loves to cook (which I count as a blessing everyday, since I hate to cook)! We love adventure, including skydiving, zip lining, biking, scuba diving, hiking and travel. I love warm, sunny places. I love inspiring books, a great joke, and chocolate.

Hi, I'm Skylar Diane - People

About Me

I am a stay-at-home mother of four, but I rarely stay at home. My oldest son is serving an LDS mission in Russia. My next child is about to graduate high school and planning on serving in the Navy. I am a soccer mom, a swim team mom, a football mom, and a track mom. Though I often second guess my parenting efforts, I never get tired of working on this eternal project. I have many hobbies including quilting, reading, lifting weights, and eating out. I cook the majority of meals we eat at home. My favorite kind of cooking is baking. I enjoy taking cooking classes. I have always enjoyed being outside. I enjoy hiking, skiing and boating. I am amazed my the creativity of Heavenly Father. For me, it can be a deeply spiritual experience to spend time in the outdoors. I have been employed as a special education teacher. Currently, I volunteer at a private, special education preschool. I also serve as a nursery teacher in my congregation. Nothing is more interesting to me than watching a child develop language. I have been married for over 20 years. I met my husband in college, and we married in our twenties. I find deep satisfaction is watching my husband serve in church and our family. He really has become the man I dreamed of. One of the great challenges in my life has been knowing how to live with the people in my family who have substance addictions. I struggle to balance my need for connection and safety. I seek Gods guidance in these relationships.

Hi, I'm Channing - People

I am a mother, a nursing student, a survivor of domestic abuse and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a young mother of a toddler attending school in pursuit of a nursing degree. I left an abusive marriage and am now happily remarried to a wonderful man. I have gone through things that most 23 year old young women should not have to go through and yet I still see life as "half-full" and I know that my strength comes from the testimony that I have gained regarding this church. Life is beautiful and the words of this church are true and are uplifting. I have a love for this church that will never leave my heart.

Hi, I'm Arielle Tanner - People

I'm an ASL-singing-blonde-swing dancer-Shakespeare enthusiast who has overcome depression and abuse. Plus, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a recent college graduate in a difficult job market. However, I am blessed to work with handicapped children and have taught and interpreted American Sign Language. There are so many things that I love to do, so it's been fun (now that I'm home again) to schedule the time to do them in. I love organizing, teaching kids and teenagers, writing, all kinds of dance especially East coast swing dance, singing, acting, sign language in the Deaf community, making new friends, clowning and Commedia Dell Arte, reading all genres especially fantasy/science fiction, quilting and sewing, design, studying, physics essays, marine biology and drawing zoology diagrams, scrapbooking, skyping friends, service projects, and a myriad of other activities. I've mostly performed in musical theatre, but a large goal for me is to join the American Shakespeare Company or start a Deaf theatre of my own. However, my overreaching goal has always been to be a mother. My mom has always been a great example to me, and I am excited to start my own family in the future!

Hi, I'm Angela - People

I' m a dating & domestic abuse survivor, victims advocate & beauty queen. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a married stay-at-home mother to four amazing kids. I was raised as an ARMY brat and I have little stickers on the back of everything I own to prove it. Named Mrs. North Dakota America 2005 and Mrs. North Dakota International 2008. I am an advocate working to bring attention to Go Red for Women, domestic and dating abuse awareness, and children’s literacy. Besides proving I clean-up real nice I can stretch a dollar like nobody’s business and can create a meal out of nothing, but cannot on my best day make Jell-O or a descent pie crust. Thankfully I have good friends to fill my gelatin and pastry needs. I am voracious reader and write children’s books to maintain my sanity, otherwise a number of fictional characters take up residence in my brain, talking to me and keeping me awake at night. It’s a little known fact that I also illustrates. Within church, I work mostly in the youth programs. My greatest and hardest work is maintaining the title of “Mom" but thankfully I am married to Superman, who goes by the name Jared when he has his glasses on and who helps me every step of the way.

Hi, I'm Christine - People

I'm a Mormon Mom of 5 young children, a wife, artist, singer, & dreamer! I'm grateful for the direction God gives me in my life.

About Me

I was raised mainly in California and met my husband on a blind date. Briant was a soft spoken, unassuming man, who had a hard time expressing his feelings in the outgoing way that I had expected of a man. We dated off and on because Briant taught school in Hawaii & worked on his Master's degree at BYU-Provo in the summers. In 1996 I stopped dating Briant because I couldn't get myself to overlook what I percieved to be his flaws. I ended up dating his Italian roommate "M" a while later. Being part Italian, I was drawn to M's food, culture, family, and warm personality. While dating M one my best friends invited me to her wedding. I asked if I could bring M with me. I was surprised when she said, "No, not unless you are engaged." On the day of her wedding, I walked alone into the LDS Bountiful temple and I saw Briant in the temple lobby from a distance. As I looked at him, the spirit of God very clearly let me know through audible words in my mind, that Briant was a kind, gentle, and generous man, and that he would treat me well in marriage. I told M about my temple experience and we stopped dating. Briant was truly shocked when I called him and said, "I can see myself loving you and as your wife!" Had I been at the temple holding M's romantic hand, I doubt I would have been open to the feelings of the spirit. 16 years of marriage and 5 children later, I'm grateful for the Law of Chastity that helped keep me safe and worthy to be able to marry in the temple.

Hi, I'm jerreth - People

I'm a Mormon. i grew up in texas in bad neiborhoods where drug abuse was everywhere. i grew up without jesus christ in my life.

About Me

through my life ive seen alot of terrable things. my bio parents were drug and alcohol abusers. i was born in the east side of flint but spent most my life in texas also in terrable neiborhoods. ive always loved to learn and had a good sense of right and wrong. those things made me stand out and i was shunned most the time because the color of my skin and because i was different. my bio parents took off in my teenage years and i moved to san antonio with my grandmother. she was a very mentally abuseive person. my time spent with her i finished high school but had major depression. not only because of her but the things i went through growing up like the physical abuse and neglect. at that point i didnt beleive there was a god or if there was he didnt care. through a roomate i was invited to church and i decided to go. i felt the spirit and looked into the church myself. i was baptized 2 months later. since then i decided to serve a mission. a family i met took me in and legally adopted me as there son. they have been more special to me then any temporal thing i could gain in this life. the lord blessed me and showed me a better path. through jesus christ and his atonment i have felt more love and purpose.
