Hi, I'm Valerie Jean - People

Married to a private investigator. We have 3 children. I love being a wife, mom and business-owner. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Elder Boyd K. Packer said, "The ultimate end of all activity in the Church is that a man and his wife and their children can be happy at home." I can say firsthand that I know what it's like to be a part of a happy family. In this regard, I am the luckiest wife and mother on the planet. Our children are teenagers, and yet they still open up to me about anything and everything. I treasure my husband and children more than I can say. I have numerous other blessings as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have a strong desire to share my testimony of the gospel. I do struggle with weaknesses and various different trials, specifically health issues. But it helps me to remember the good moments outweigh the bad ones. Oh how they do! The gospel of Jesus Christ enables me to have this perspective, regardless of the trials my family and I are going through. I enjoy reading mostly for secular and spiritual learning, journal writing, photography, creative writing, going to the movies isn't movie popcorn the best?!, helping others, social networking on the internet, blogging, spending time with my friends, immediate and extended family and I've been known to play a game of spider solitaire or two. If I'm listening to Michael Buble, one might catch me dancing. I very much enjoy going to the temple. I have taken numerous college classes on different campuses and online. I absolutely love learning. My husband is a private investigator. He is good at what he does and more importantly, he enjoys his job. I do not work outside the home. A great deal of my time and energy is spent towards my family and taking care of our daughter who has special needs. She has over 15 doctors. My sons have some health care issues as well. But I am grateful that my children have doctors and medication to help them. The inconvenience of doctor's appointments is a small price to pay for necessary health care. Somehow, our children rise above their trials and keep on going. They each have accomplished good things and I am proud of them, especially for the good choices they make. I am so grateful to my husband, and for the love and patience he shows to me. He is also one of the funniest people I know. I love him dearly. I am excited for this opportunity to share my beliefs about Jesus Christ. I welcome comments on my blog page.

Hi, I'm Dave - People

I'm a language lover, a music maker, a multicultural food devourer, a teacher of my kids and grandkids. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love pulling people closer into my circle and expanding my circle to include them. I love the languages and cultures and the people of Central Asia, and I enjoy being a language administrator. Most of my co-workers are Muslim, and I love working with them as we create textbooks, multimedia materials and mobile apps for Turkic and Iranian languages. We also teach language and culture to students from academic, business, military and other governmental organizations, many of whom later travel or work in Afghanistan, Western China or various Eurasian countries. I enjoy creating music, vocal and instrumental. I also love roller coasters and stormy weather. I’ve been laid off twice. Despite trials and defeat, I have always felt a success as a parent, and as a result, I’ve felt successful in general. I love my wife. She is an organizer extraordinaire; her influence as a teacher of youth cannot be measured. We are empty nesters with six amazing adult kids, a daughter and five sons. We have a bunch of wonderful grandkids. My favorite age is the teenage years. I love having teenagers; it's when their hearts and minds kick in in full gear. Teenagerhood -- well prepared for -- is a joy. Real travel for me starts where English is not spoken and dollars are not used. I love eating international foods of all sorts and discussing them with my family. I enjoy talking to folks of all sorts; I love learning from people who aren't like me.

Hi, I'm Jo Fisher - People

I'm a Mormon. Finding out about the Articles of Faith of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormons) converted me.

About Me

I am an avid reader and interested in finding out the truth about things by doing research and not just believing in heresay. I have worked as a family counselor, human resources manager and as a Georgia Supreme Court translator. I have taught English as a second language to adults and children. I have translated textbooks, children's story books, travel brochures and songs. I enjoy doing anything that is creative, painting, sewing, crocheting, cooking, baking, gardening and helping people. I am a very happy, optimistic person and always ready to do whatever needs to be done. I thoroughly enjoy the outdoors and invite me to go on a hike or walk 5 miles and I'll be ready in no time! I have visited several countries in Europe, South America and also, Australia, New Zealand and Canada. There's nothing better than getting to know people from other countries and learn about their culture, architecture, food, language, art , country and religion for it broadens our horizon and teaches us to appreciate the differences and similarities that we have. I have 4 children.. 2 boys and 2 girls, and 5 gand-children and 2 g-grandchildren. However, I have 3 brothers and 4 sisters .. all college graduates and very united.

Hi, I'm Ben Jones - People

Mormon convert, adoptive father of 3, father of 3, grandfather of 2, stepfather of 3, step-grand-father of 12.

About Me

I program computers for a living. I started out in computer graphics in 1976 when it was not a household word. Originally I wanted to do computer graphic movies but that was about 19 years before Pixar made their first feature film so I ended up doing flight simulation instead. Later I got into analyzing computer programs and generating web pages from them. Now I'm using supercomputers to analyze data for the US government. I married a woman with three half grown kids. I adopted them and then we had three more together. That really helped cement the family together as the older kids loved being big brothers and sisters to the little ones. My wife died when our youngest was 18. I remarried and acquired three step children in their thirties and 10 now 12 step grand children. Two of my children now have children as well. One of my daughters is now like a sister to the step-daughter who introduced me to her mother. I love choral singing. I served in the Mormon Tabernacle choir for 4 years 1987-1991 when I lived in Salt Lake City. My wife and I now sing with the Mormon Choir of Washington DC.

Hi, I'm Jared - People

About Me

Hi, I'm Jared. I've loved to learn all my life, and so, no surprise, I became a teacher! Although endorsed as a language arts teacher (I love the art of words and the power of writing throughout the ages), I also love astronomy, history, biology, anatomy, visual arts, and social arts and culture. My wife and I found each other via online dating (yes, it can work!), and have one beautiful child. For hobbies, I enjoy hiking, creative writing, analytical writing, designing solar systems, and designing "alien" societies. I also love video games, where I can experience virtual realities or simulations (which works well when you like to write sci fi or fantasy).

Hi, I'm Robert - People

I'm a father to 11 children, a husband, an assistant scoutmaster, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I know... 11 children he must be a Mormon!! Well it did not start out that way. We originally wanted to have 4 children and being the over achievers that we are, we had 5. Just a few years ago my sister was diagnosed with cancer immediately after the birth of her last child. She passed quickly and subsequently we were able to adopt her youngest 6 children. We are very excited about having a big family and look forward to the many vacations we have in our 15 passenger van!

Hi, I'm Jason - People

I grew up in southern Illinois and I'm a Mormon from birth.

About Me

I guess your first question is how did I end up out west. Well it has a lot to do with Mormon church. Since I was small I was prepared to serve a full-time mission for the Lord. When I got old enough I filled out the necessary paperwork and submitted them to church headquarters. About two weeks later I received a mission call asking me to serve in Salt Lake City (believe it or not there not all Mormons in Salt Lake). After I served my mission I went to junior college in Rexburg, Idaho at was then called Rick's. It has since become a four year college called BYU-Idaho. I had family that I lived with for a while in Hamilton, MT and I since got my own apartment in Missoula, MT.
