Hi, I'm Jared - People

About Me

Hi, I'm Jared. I've loved to learn all my life, and so, no surprise, I became a teacher! Although endorsed as a language arts teacher (I love the art of words and the power of writing throughout the ages), I also love astronomy, history, biology, anatomy, visual arts, and social arts and culture. My wife and I found each other via online dating (yes, it can work!), and have one beautiful child. For hobbies, I enjoy hiking, creative writing, analytical writing, designing solar systems, and designing "alien" societies. I also love video games, where I can experience virtual realities or simulations (which works well when you like to write sci fi or fantasy).

Hi, I'm Celeste Burnham - People

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, commonly known today as "mormon".

About Me

I am 20 years old, youngest of 7 children (all married) and was raised in a small town with just a handful of people my age who shared the same beliefs through grade school. I felt different and it was hard standing up for what I believed in, but my friends knew my beliefs and were kind enough to not pressure me into something I and they knew I would regret. Because of a loving family, respectful friends, and most importantly a loving God who works personally with all His children, including myself, I have made the decision to serve a full time mission to share what I know to be true! I am currently living at home in a small town with my parents, awaiting my mission call, trying to fulfil my purposes here, and saving up money to share this gospel message elsewhere in the world. I love sports; played several through high school, and love to exercise! I went to school for 2 years to study the composition of music, for music has also played a huge role in my life and I know music with spiritual meaning has huge affect on the soul; it has a huge part on who I am today. I play the piano, guitar, and love percussion. 4 most important things in my life to me are, God/His love, My family, Music, and My body (exercise/sports). With all these things, especially with God and family first, Life is wonderful. It's beautifully happy and simple. With God first, we know who we are, where to go and are directed to the happiest path for us. I love life in the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Hi, I'm Valerie Jean - People

Married to a private investigator. We have 3 children. I love being a wife, mom and business-owner. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Elder Boyd K. Packer said, "The ultimate end of all activity in the Church is that a man and his wife and their children can be happy at home." I can say firsthand that I know what it's like to be a part of a happy family. In this regard, I am the luckiest wife and mother on the planet. Our children are teenagers, and yet they still open up to me about anything and everything. I treasure my husband and children more than I can say. I have numerous other blessings as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have a strong desire to share my testimony of the gospel. I do struggle with weaknesses and various different trials, specifically health issues. But it helps me to remember the good moments outweigh the bad ones. Oh how they do! The gospel of Jesus Christ enables me to have this perspective, regardless of the trials my family and I are going through. I enjoy reading mostly for secular and spiritual learning, journal writing, photography, creative writing, going to the movies isn't movie popcorn the best?!, helping others, social networking on the internet, blogging, spending time with my friends, immediate and extended family and I've been known to play a game of spider solitaire or two. If I'm listening to Michael Buble, one might catch me dancing. I very much enjoy going to the temple. I have taken numerous college classes on different campuses and online. I absolutely love learning. My husband is a private investigator. He is good at what he does and more importantly, he enjoys his job. I do not work outside the home. A great deal of my time and energy is spent towards my family and taking care of our daughter who has special needs. She has over 15 doctors. My sons have some health care issues as well. But I am grateful that my children have doctors and medication to help them. The inconvenience of doctor's appointments is a small price to pay for necessary health care. Somehow, our children rise above their trials and keep on going. They each have accomplished good things and I am proud of them, especially for the good choices they make. I am so grateful to my husband, and for the love and patience he shows to me. He is also one of the funniest people I know. I love him dearly. I am excited for this opportunity to share my beliefs about Jesus Christ. I welcome comments on my blog page.

Hi, I'm Trevor - People

I'm a college student. I enjoy sports, reading, and spending time with friends and family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Trevor. Currently I am a college student trying to find his direction in life. I am working towards completing the pre-med requirements here at school but still find myself open-minded to major and career opportunities. All I know is that I enjoy working with and helping others. I want to find a career where I can make a difference. I really look up to my parents in that respect. My dad is a math teacher at our local high school and my mom work as an administrator at a technical school. They always do their best to put others first and have set a great example for me. I am the second of five children and the only boy. When each of my younger sisters was born, I was really hoping one of them would be a boy, because I really wanted a brother. I guess that never really worked out, but I feel really lucky to have been blessed with my four sisters. I consider them to be some of my best friends, and we really have so much fun together. Perhaps because I never had a brother to romp around with at home (or the annoyance of my sisters as I tried to rough house with them) I began to participate in sports and played football and wrestled in high school. I am an avid lover of sports and will play or watch sports as often as I can. In addition to playing sports whenever someone invites me, I enjoy reading, listening to music, and spending time with friends.

Hi, I'm Jonny - People

I have been in the Army for 10 years, crew on a Chinook Helicopter and been deployed to combat 3 times and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I come from a big family with 7 brothers and sisters. I grew up in the deserts of Arizona and loved to hike the mountains and camp outdoors. I am a huge fan of the Arizona Diamondbacks baseball team. I have been serving in the US Army since August 2001and have deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq 3 times and also had a 15 month tour in Korea. I am a flight engineer on a chinook helicopter and enjoy the friendships I have with other soldiers I work closely with to maintain the helicopters. I love flying in the helicopter and having the viewpoint of the world from the air. I also go to school part-time through online courses. I wish when I was younger I had taken more advantage of school and am learning now how to juggle schooling with the constant and demanding work schedule I have. I am working hard to finish up my degree in Criminal Justice and desire to continue to serve my community when I finish my career in the military. I guess I was destined to spend my life wanting to serve and protect other people from harm.

Hi, I'm Toby Severtson - People

I grew up in Mesa, Arizona. I'm a devoted & loyal husband & father. I'm an IT manager in a fortune 1000 company. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Mesa, Arizona where I attended a local elementary, junior high and high schools. At the age of 19, I served a two year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Washington DC, then returned to marry my high school sweetheart very soon after. I attended college/university while I worked full-time in the field of Information Technology. At the age of 29, an opportunity provided itself, so my wife and I moved our family to Chicago, Illinois. During our 5th year in Chicago, my wife discovered she had an aggressive form of breast cancer, so we moved our home back to Arizona to be near extended family. My sweetheart lost her battle to breast cancer after 7 enduring years leaving me a single father at age 40 with four children ages 16, 14, 12 and 9. I've always been a faithful person, but found myself in the darkest time of my life. It was tremendously difficult to imagine that I could be happy ever again. But my prayers & pleadings to Heavely Father were "if you are going to take someone so precious from my life, please have someone prepared for me". As a tender mercy from a loving Heavenly Father, not too many months later I was led to a sweet woman who also lost her spouse (who also had 4 children), and the two have since decided to spend the rest of our lives together -- 8 children and all.

Hi, I'm Dave - People

I'm a language lover, a music maker, a multicultural food devourer, a teacher of my kids and grandkids. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love pulling people closer into my circle and expanding my circle to include them. I love the languages and cultures and the people of Central Asia, and I enjoy being a language administrator. Most of my co-workers are Muslim, and I love working with them as we create textbooks, multimedia materials and mobile apps for Turkic and Iranian languages. We also teach language and culture to students from academic, business, military and other governmental organizations, many of whom later travel or work in Afghanistan, Western China or various Eurasian countries. I enjoy creating music, vocal and instrumental. I also love roller coasters and stormy weather. I’ve been laid off twice. Despite trials and defeat, I have always felt a success as a parent, and as a result, I’ve felt successful in general. I love my wife. She is an organizer extraordinaire; her influence as a teacher of youth cannot be measured. We are empty nesters with six amazing adult kids, a daughter and five sons. We have a bunch of wonderful grandkids. My favorite age is the teenage years. I love having teenagers; it's when their hearts and minds kick in in full gear. Teenagerhood -- well prepared for -- is a joy. Real travel for me starts where English is not spoken and dollars are not used. I love eating international foods of all sorts and discussing them with my family. I enjoy talking to folks of all sorts; I love learning from people who aren't like me.

Hi, I'm Fred - People

I'm a 3rd-generation Polish-American raised in New York City, but I lived my adult life in the Southern US. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I'm still driving motorcycles - since I was 15 years old. Although I'm not as adventurous or hyperactive as I used to be, my curiosity of why things are the way they are, and a knack to invent or fix things make me a natural for my profession. I'm an engineer. My career spans aerospace and rocket science, international consulting, and now auditing of research and technology activities. I was an Eagle Scout and like being outdoors - hunting, fishing, camping, flying - even though I now spend most of my time working on a computer.

Hi, I'm Marshall Dee Brewer - People

I'm 62 years old, I love to read and write, I love the outdoors and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm married to a wonderful woman and the mother of our 9 children. We have 23 wonderful grandchildren. Having family is the best of life's experiences. Working and providing for family is a challenge and blessing. Many wonderful experiences occur in life as a person grows from childhood to adulthood and parenthood to being grandparents. You find out that someone is watching out for you and gives that extra help when you need it in your successes and your challenges. We are not alone. We cannot take all the credit for ourselves. That is what I have found out in my life.

Hi, I'm Steve - People

I'm a man of many titles trying to provide for my family as well as find joy and happiness in a world of challenges. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a son, husband, father, grandpa, neighbor and friend. There are many things which I enjoy but find less and less time to engage. Some of these things include visiting with family and friends, fishing - fly and artificial lure, cooking especially in a dutch oven, reading a good book, watching a meaningful movie or play, listening to uplifting music that has feeling, helping someone in need, drawing, wood carving, plunking out songs by ear on the piano, carving pumpkins or sculpting snow, putting my thoughts and feelings into poems and sharing my beliefs. I was born in Nebraska but was raised in Alaska where my step father was stationed at a military base. I joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints when I was fifteen. I served a voluntary, two year mission to Virginia/West Virginia when I was nineteen. After my mission I completed a bachelors degree in the area of Information Management. While at college I met my sweetheart and we married. I spent the first 10 years of my working life in a grocery store where I learned the business from bagging to butchering. During college I got involved in banking and was introduced to computer support. Since college graduation I have managed customer service and training for various technology companies. I am currently managing a broadcast planning and support organization responsible for satellite, video conferencing and streaming technology.
