About Me
Hi, I'm Jared. I've loved to learn all my life, and so, no surprise, I became a teacher! Although endorsed as a language arts teacher (I love the art of words and the power of writing throughout the ages), I also love astronomy, history, biology, anatomy, visual arts, and social arts and culture. My wife and I found each other via online dating (yes, it can work!), and have one beautiful child. For hobbies, I enjoy hiking, creative writing, analytical writing, designing solar systems, and designing "alien" societies. I also love video games, where I can experience virtual realities or simulations (which works well when you like to write sci fi or fantasy).

About Me
I just graduated from college and now have my first teaching job teaching elementary music! Music has been a huge part of my life since the beginning, so I have been able to sing and learn to play the violin, as well as learn many other instruments during my time in college. Along with music, swimming has also been a big part of my life, whether in the form of swimming on a team or teaching swimming lessons. When I have a few minutes to spare, I like to read, run, be with my husband, my family and friends, or EAT! So many times during all of these activities, I have had the opportunity to share my personal beliefs, which are part of who I am and how I live, with those around me.

About Me
I love pulling people closer into my circle and expanding my circle to include them. I love the languages and cultures and the people of Central Asia, and I enjoy being a language administrator. Most of my co-workers are Muslim, and I love working with them as we create textbooks, multimedia materials and mobile apps for Turkic and Iranian languages. We also teach language and culture to students from academic, business, military and other governmental organizations, many of whom later travel or work in Afghanistan, Western China or various Eurasian countries. I enjoy creating music, vocal and instrumental. I also love roller coasters and stormy weather. I’ve been laid off twice. Despite trials and defeat, I have always felt a success as a parent, and as a result, I’ve felt successful in general. I love my wife. She is an organizer extraordinaire; her influence as a teacher of youth cannot be measured. We are empty nesters with six amazing adult kids, a daughter and five sons. We have a bunch of wonderful grandkids. My favorite age is the teenage years. I love having teenagers; it's when their hearts and minds kick in in full gear. Teenagerhood -- well prepared for -- is a joy. Real travel for me starts where English is not spoken and dollars are not used. I love eating international foods of all sorts and discussing them with my family. I enjoy talking to folks of all sorts; I love learning from people who aren't like me.

About Me
I am currently on a mission for the church serving in the Michigan Lansing Mission. Growing up, I was taught the importance of family by example through my parents and siblings. It was in the home that I truly started to understand how monumental of a role Jesus Christ should play in our lives. Also, I am a very firm believer in the way that the Lord works through all of us Individually. That fact has influenced my choices, and actions in many ways. I can be kind of a weirdo at times, and sometimes, even a space cadet But I am ultimately comforted by the fact that God has used, and will use me to bless peoples lives, and make this world a better place. I love having fun, and enjoy getting to know people. I write music with my guitar, piano, and any other means I have in my grasp. I enjoy Ultimate Frisbee, Tennis, Baseball, Soccer, and anything else outdoors. I also believe that in most cases, it's not what you are doing, it's who you are doing it with. "Mankind is my business", if I may quote Charles Dickens. Whatever I do with my life, Loving my neighbor shall be my constant endeavor. At least, that's what I want to strive to do. So anyways, that's me. Just like everyone else, working on making their mark on the world in their own special way..

About Me
Professionally, my original career was as a computer information analyst and corporate communications professional, which also included the roles of mainframe computer programmer, webmaster, photographer and graphic artist. However, in recent years, I finished law school, passed the bar exam, and am now an attorney who works within the national government. I'm married, with one daughter of grade school age. I enjoy computers, photography, old TV and radio programs, shortwave radio, satellite communications, and of all things, ancient audio recordings from 1890-1920, which were typically made on cylinders. And, of course, I enjoy reading.

About Me
I grew up in a farming community in Northern California. I moved out of state for university, and I'm really just your typical student in university. I stay up late to do homework, live off mac and cheese during finals, and manage to meet some amazing people while I'm at it. My newest challenge is a triathlon I'm signing up for in a few months. My training calendar sits proudly on my desk. Swim. Bike. Run. Repeat. Running is a new outlet. During the run, I have time to put the homework aside and think. Sometimes I think about nature and how breathtaking the scenery and trees are. Sometimes I think about how amazing it is that the respiratory system can intake oxygen and process it and release carbon dioxide. Sometimes I run to forget about an awkward date or to run off steam after a disagreement with a roommate over dishes. Sometimes I am fortunate enough to run and stop thinking about myself and begin to truly appreciate and focus on the world around me, outside of my bubble. It gives me a new perspective on the meaning of life!
