About Me
Hi, I'm Jared. I've loved to learn all my life, and so, no surprise, I became a teacher! Although endorsed as a language arts teacher (I love the art of words and the power of writing throughout the ages), I also love astronomy, history, biology, anatomy, visual arts, and social arts and culture. My wife and I found each other via online dating (yes, it can work!), and have one beautiful child. For hobbies, I enjoy hiking, creative writing, analytical writing, designing solar systems, and designing "alien" societies. I also love video games, where I can experience virtual realities or simulations (which works well when you like to write sci fi or fantasy).

About Me
Me and my family love just spending time together. My wife and I along with our four kids love to spend time at the lake or at the pool. We try to get together with our extended family as much as possible as well. My job allows me to spend extra time with my family during the summer months so we try to take fun vacations close to home. I enjoy being a dad and love watching my kids grow and learn daily. My wife and I have been happily married now for 17 years. We're at that great point in life where our kids are still at home but all out of diapers and not yet into full teenage mode. I have a terrific home life. I work as a Sales Manager for a publishing company. I work with professors at local colleges on their textbook needs for class. I manage a group of 10 sales people. I travel some with my job but try to be at home as much as possible for my family. I love my job.

I live in Virginia. I was a stay-at-home mom for 20 years then I went to college to become a hospice nurse.
-

About Me
I was born and raised in New Jersey. After I remarried I moved to Virginia. I miss my relatives back home but I love it here. I was a stay-at-home mom for over 20 years. I have 5 children of my own and 2 step-children and one that my husband and I "adopted." For the longest time if anyone asked me what my hobby was I would tell them washing clothes. I loved being home with my children and wouldn't trade anything for my time with them. They are all grown now and on their own. Time flies. I decided to go to school to become a hospice nurse after taking care of my dad during his last two months of his life. I accomplished that goal which goes to prove you're never too old to go to school and learn a new career. I really enjoy my work but my heart is still at home. My in-laws live with us. My mother-in-law was diagnosed with Parkinsons a few years ago and so they are here in anticipation of her future needs. We all work together to make our home fun and functional. Dad is kept busy by tending to the lawn and other home needs. I do the cooking and Mom washes dishes and keeps the house looking tidy. My husband works and joins us in keeping our home maintained. We and our home are a work in progress.

About Me
I enjoy learning and helping others ignite their desire to learn as well. I am a graduate student at ASU learning more about how technology can be used to help us learn better, faster, and more efficiently. At the same time I am a husband and a father of three kids under the age of 8 and one on the way. My life is constantly a balancing act between all the roles that I fill. As a husband I try to find ways to continually court my wife through service and fun dates. As a father I enjoy teaching my kids and making up stories about life, school and nonsense. As a provider for my family I try keep food on the table and the bills paid. As a student I try to meet the many research and development deadlines that never seem to end. As an individual I enjoy exploring new ideas and bringing people together to create, innovate and learn.

About Me
I love to help others by doing things such as: substituting in a special needs class, teaching someone to read, making quilts or hygiene kits for the humanitarian effort, making dinner for someone in need, teaching a nursery class at church, leading a choir, doing genealogical research and indexing, cleaning highways or parks, teaching piano, teaching math, teaching grammar, teaching science, teaching history, helping others understand the scriptures. I enjoy witnessing others experience an aha moment! I enjoy helping others know that someone cares about them and they are loved, that they are important. I enjoy my children! I learn so much from them! They bring joy to my life! I enjoy teaching them and watching them think about what they have learned. I enjoy witnessing my children's aha moments! I enjoy having a close relationship with my husband. One where we help each other and think like one another. We just enjoy being together. No matter what we are doing. We love to 4-wheel, walk together, and just philosophize together. I enjoy cooking, sewing, baking, reading, playing the piano, playing the french horn, singing, doing genealogy, ballroom dancing, exercising and learning. Most of all, I love to look for symbolism in the scriptures and think deeply about them. I love experiencing aha moments! I get this same excitement from finding a new name when I do genealogy. It is like putting a puzzle together...like being a detective. I enjoy stories about my ancestors.

About Me
I am a mother of three beautiful daughters with curly hair. I have always wanted to be a mother and like most LDS women wanted to get married at an early age. Heavenly Father had different plans for me. Before getting married, I went to college and got a degree in education from Idaho State University. After graducation and before teaching school I served a mission where I taught the gospel to those in Alabama. I came home and taught school 3 years before getting married to my prince charming. I contunued to teach for 6 more years. I am currently staying home with my children and find that a new adventure which I love.

I'm a language lover, a music maker, a multicultural food devourer, a teacher of my kids and grandkids. And I'm a Mormon.
-
-
About Me
I love pulling people closer into my circle and expanding my circle to include them. I love the languages and cultures and the people of Central Asia, and I enjoy being a language administrator. Most of my co-workers are Muslim, and I love working with them as we create textbooks, multimedia materials and mobile apps for Turkic and Iranian languages. We also teach language and culture to students from academic, business, military and other governmental organizations, many of whom later travel or work in Afghanistan, Western China or various Eurasian countries. I enjoy creating music, vocal and instrumental. I also love roller coasters and stormy weather. I’ve been laid off twice. Despite trials and defeat, I have always felt a success as a parent, and as a result, I’ve felt successful in general. I love my wife. She is an organizer extraordinaire; her influence as a teacher of youth cannot be measured. We are empty nesters with six amazing adult kids, a daughter and five sons. We have a bunch of wonderful grandkids. My favorite age is the teenage years. I love having teenagers; it's when their hearts and minds kick in in full gear. Teenagerhood -- well prepared for -- is a joy. Real travel for me starts where English is not spoken and dollars are not used. I love eating international foods of all sorts and discussing them with my family. I enjoy talking to folks of all sorts; I love learning from people who aren't like me.

I lived in 4 states as we raised our family of 8 children. I've managed a home business and taught preschool. I'm a Mormon.
-
-
About Me
I love learning new things, which didn't stop after graduating from college, even though I chose to stay at home to raise my 8 children. I loved the piano and when my Suzuki students had trouble reading music, I wrote my own primer, enjoying the challenge of composing simple but melodic tunes. As a trained preschool teacher, I used my skills and ingenuity to foster a love of learning in my children. Later, when my husband and I started a supply business with our friends, I managed the business end and drove a box truck on deliveries with my 4 year old son as companion. We relocated many times with my husband's work and I learned that a new place is only strange until you learn about its uniqueness, then it feels like home. In the middle of these activities, I developed severe rheumatoid arthritis which was a challenge I didn't enjoy. It meant many years of pain until new medicines brought my disease into remission and physical therapy restored many of my abilities. I still cannot play an octave on the piano with my right hand and had to stop teaching piano. But I feel grateful that now I can hold and play with my grandchildren and am still the handyman around the house. Life is good.

I grew up in southern Arizona. I used to teach middle school, but now I'm a stay at home mom to my 4 children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me
After spending 30 years in Arizona (as a child and a young mother) my husband lost his job as a result of the down-turned economy. Like so many others, we found ourselves looking for a new future. We decided that my husband would return to school and get his degree. It was the hardest decision we've ever made as we left our family, friends and lives behind and moved to Idaho. But we felt the Lord's hand in our decision -- every step of the way. I taught Middle School for 7 years in Arizona but I am now a stay at home mom. Do I miss teaching school? Sometimes, but I traded in a room full of tweens, for a home full of little ones and it is my duty to teach them the important lessons of life. However, I also spend time volunteering outside the home at my kids' schools and at the public library. I am passionate about teaching, learning and reading. I love my family and treasure every moment we have together.

About Me
I was born and raised in Utah. My whole life I have LOVED music!! I started piano lessons when I was 7, and learned to play the flute in 5th grade. I met my husband in 8th grade when my family moved into his neighborhood. We were in the band together from 8th grade until we graduated from high school, and were really good friends. After we graduated I attended college to pursue a teaching degree, and my husband served as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We wrote to each other every week as friends, and when he got home we dated and got married almost a year after he returned. In fact, he proposed the day that I graduated! He went to college to earn a degree in accounting, I started teaching, and we bought a condo near our parents' homes. Things were great! We had our first child four years after we were married, and I quit teaching to be a stay-at-home mom. Soon after she was born, we sold our condo, moved in with parents, and my husband quit his job to get his master's degree in accounting. Our second child came just after my husband graduated. My hubby found a wonderful job, and we were then able to purchase a home and move out of the dark and dreary basement!!! I now spend my days at home tutoring students, teaching piano, and having fun with my kiddos. I am living my dream!!!

About Me
I am a mom of 5 lively and fun kids. I moved out of the city to enjoy the quieter life in a rural town. I love our community and being involved. I enjoy learning new things but can't seem to really stay with any one thing long enough to become an expert. Cooking is my first love when it comes to hobbies. No matter the dish, it's to me. The more mouths to feed, the merrier:) I've been known to make multiple recipes to compare and test with my kids. The cinnamon roll test of 8 different batches, wasn't exactly bringing in complaints. We have an exchange student with us from Mexico for the school year, he's wonderful. All 6 kids are in school full time and I spend my days trying to be responsible! If I'm not spending time in the schools, I'm at home trying to catch up. Well truth be told, many times, I can be found doing my second favorite hobby......shopping! Doesn't matter what for, I just love to shop, by myself in peace and quiet and on my own time frame. If there is extra time at that point, I'll grab a sewing project (once or twice a year) and enjoy creating something. My home is a place of refuge and relaxation. Well not all the time, but mostly. I enjoy making my home a reflection of me and my husband. We spent years designing and building this home to fit our needs and lifestyle, but were still able to make it feel comfortable to us. I love where I live, my home, my community and my friends. I love my life!

-
About Me
Growing up, I always had a passion for education. My grandmother was a lifelong educator and I always wanted to be a teacher. I also loved the Spanish language. In college I put both interests together and became a Spanish teaching major. I had the opportunity to live in rural Mexico and teach basic literacy in Spanish to adults. Through this experience I truly found myself and realized how important education was and would always be in my life. Now I am trying to instill a similar love of learning in my own three children. We love to spend time at the library, the park, the zoo, or anywhere that satisfies our curiousity! When I'm not exploring with my kids, I also love to work in my yard or my garden, cook, or curl up with a good book
