About Me
My name is Emily, and I was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on 27 September 2009. I am Deaf, but received bilateral cochlear implants in 2010. I found the church through my ballroom dance teacher and his wife (who became my best friend). Because I grew up in a divorced home with many difficult issues, their example to me of what a family could really be was critical in my process of learning about the church. My conversion took nine months of intense study, as well as behavior changes that included giving up alcohol, coffee, and piercings. Oh, and things like chastity and tithing. And learning that I do love my family, after all, and all the repentance work that comes with discovering what that means. I heart the Temple with all the heart I've got. I have gone almost every week since I got baptized. It has brought much healing to me and to my family. In my professional life that is an attempt to be self-sufficient, I am a licensed therapist with my PhD. For fun, I love ballroom dancing, and wandering through nature to write and paint. I enjoy taking pictures for my blog. I am single still, and that has been important for me to take time on my own to learn who I truly am as defined by Heavenly Father rather than defining myself by other people. I am a daughter of God! I know that marriage is an important part of the plan, and I look forward to getting married in the Temple when it is time. I have a little dog that I love very much. Even though he is ugly.

About Me
I grew up UT, AZ & ID. My family seemed constantly on the move making me always the 'new girl', a title that sometimes got annoying. I was quite shy as a child so continually having to make new friends was difficult for me but through it all I learned many things about who I was and who I wanted to become and the many similarities and insecurities all people seem to share. After high school I attended BYU where I recieved the opportunity to travel for a semester to the Holy Land and got my first real taste of travel, a love which has continued with me ever since. Shortly after I married a wonderful man from AZ and we've lived in the sun ever since. Together we've been blessed with four sons whom we love dearly and are a great joy to our lives. As a family we believe in working hard and playing hard. We've spent our play/vacation time boating on the lakes in the Phoenix valley and Lake Powell; camping in the beautiful White Mountains and desert of AZ, and the dunes in Southern CA in all of which we've enjoyed riding quads, dirt bikes & buggies and made many great memories and survived with only a few broken bones. We've been able to travel to many parts of the world and have hopes of seeing much more in the future. I love reading, spending time with family, service in the church, and scrapbooking our travels-a hobbie which continues to change as technology advances.

I enjoy competing--on my road bike, on the golf course, at card games, and, in pie-eating contests. I'm a Mormon.

About Me
When I have free time, I have a hard time deciding: Should I go for a long bike ride, or, should I play a round of golf? Either way, I find great relaxation and inspiration being out-doors. But, I spend a lot of time in-doors as well. I enjoy helping people to identify and to achieve their financial goals--this can be very satisfying to me, and, very liberating and re-assuring to others. Also, I especially enjoy being with my wife (of nearly 35 years), and my five children and their spouses, and of course, my dozen grandchildren. When the weather is nice, I also enjoy working in the yard--planting flowers, trimming trees, mowing the grass, and helping make our home a place that others can enjoy. We enjoy family get-togethers at home, including: cook-outs, birthday parties, wedding receptions, and group activities and games.

About Me
I am currently a college student studying Secondary English Education and Japanese. I love spending long hours reading, writing, and, of course--spending time with friends. Most of my friends aren't members of the same Church as me but we have an amazing time together despite that. My favorite "hang-out" activity with friends is singing karaoke. Several times a year I make it a point to go support the arts by attending musical theater productions. I was heavily involved in this in high school and watching a well-done production brings me so much joy.

About Me
After 3 semesters of college studying to be a speech pathologist, I found I enjoyed "pushing paper" more than pushing people, so I became a secretary... Over 7 years I worked for lawyers, car dealers, motor vehicles, university professors, and more. I love the smell of office supply stores... After marrying and beginning our family I was blessed to be able to be a stay home mom. I occasionally substitute at our local elementary school, but I spend more time researching family history. I love all the new tools the "internet" has opened up to us; enjoy the thrill of hunting down forgotten relatives... I believe they rejoice in being found as well. I'm not the greatest cook or the best homemaker, but I consider my lapses in those areas to be gifts to my future daughters-in-law, as they will have very little to "compete" with... that's a joke. My intro to the LDS church came as a child: the LDS church pavillion at the NY World's Fair. The Christus statue and "Man's Search for Happiness" movie touched my young soul quite deeply. When I was reintroduced to the church in my teen years, it felt familiar. I joined the LDS church while a freshmen in college. I related strongly to Joseph Smith's search for the Lord's church: There is 1 bible. Why are there so many Christian denominations? Which was the right one to join? I prayed often for the answer to that question and I believe I was led to His restored gospel in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
